Welcome to Northwestern College. We are certainly proud of the long tradition of excellence in football that Red Raider fans have come to expect. A long legacy of talented coaches and players have represented the mission of our college and athletic program for many decades. Our intent as an athletic department is to Honor Christ through Excellence in Athletics. We are grateful to be a part of the Great Plains Athletic Conference and respect the opportunity to compete against your team. The campus and Orange City community welcome you to the great experience that is .

This fall marks the 39th year the Red Raiders have been a part of the NAIA. We are pleased to be an NAIA "Champions of Character" institution for the 15th straight year. Please join me in helping us provide an environment that positively supports the players, coaches, fans, and officials. We believe that promoting the NAIA core values of respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership and sportsmanship help teach our student athletes more than how to be a great athlete.

NWC GAMEDAY REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES

Northwestern College Athletics has worked with local health officials to develop gameday protocols for the fall 2020 season in the effort to mitigate risks associated with the spread of COVID-19. These protocols also follow GPAC guidelines that can be found at www.gpacsports.com. Red Raider fans are encouraged to read the protocols for opponent venues at away contests, as every stadium/gym/field has varying seating availability. The following protocols will be implemented for Red Raider home athletic events:

Home Event Regulations

- Attendance will be limited to 50% capacity of our provided seating at all venues. - Hand sanitizing/disinfecting wipe stations will be available to fans throughout the venue. - All fans are required to wear a mask and observe physical distancing while present in Northwestern facilities. - Family groups are asked to sit together and maintain physical distance between themselves and other fans. - NW coaches, student athletes and event staff have numerous daily and gameday procedures in place to help keep all Red Raiders safe. - Tailgating will not be permitted on campus.

Venue-Specific Procedures

De Valois Stadium

- Entrances will open 90 minutes prior to kick-off in an effort to ensure accurate capacity count at gates. - Red Raider fans will enter the stadium through west entrances and utilize west grandstands. - Visiting teams will enter through the east entrance and utilize east bleachers. - To further promote physical distancing, signage and event staff will direct fans to specific bleacher entrances and exits.

Soccer Stadium

- Fans are encouraged to bring their own seating and to use the west sideline to physical distance from others.

Bultman Center for Intercollegiate Sports

- Entrances will open 30 minutes before JV volleyball matches and 1 hour before basketball contests in an effort to ensure accurate capacity count at gates. - For the 2020-2021 season, masks will be required for those individuals not playing in the game/match. When on the bench or walking from the locker room to the bench, masks will be required for all players and personnel.

ATHLETIC FACILITY INFORMATION

De Valois Stadium – Korver Field (#19 on Campus Map) Sports Used – Football

Drop Off Location - Northwest corner of DeValois Stadium. Enter through the driveway north of Hospers Hall (#16) on Albany Avenue. The double gate will be open or an Event Staff Administrator will meet you to assist.

Bus Parking - Buses can remain parked behind building #18 throughout the duration of the game.

Locker Rooms – Located on the north side of building #18. Within the locker room, an AT area is curtained. Ice and water will be provide in the locker room and medical services will be on call in the stadium. Outdoor Soccer Stadium (#22 on Campus Map) Sports Used – Men’s and Women’s Soccer

Drop Off Location – Inform Event Staff Member (name will be provided by head coach) 24 hours in advance of your tentative arrival. Event Staff will meet the team on the east entrance of the Bultman Center (Building #28) and lead you to your locker room. If a locker room is not needed, drop the team off on the southeast side of the soccer stadium.

Bus Parking – Buses may park to the east of the stadium using the diagonal parking in the southeast corner.

Locker Rooms – The Bultman Center houses our locker rooms and AT Clinic. Training needs can met in the BC Clinic (1-2 hours prior to kickoff) or at the stadium (under 1 hour prior to kickoff). Locker rooms may also be located in the RSC (Building #30) later in the season.

Bultman Center for Intercollegiate Sports (#28 on Campus Map) Sports Used – Volleyball, Men and Women’s Basketball and Wrestling

Drop Off Location – Access to the front of the Bultman Center is on the west side of Parking Lot I. You can enter the parking lot from south off of Industrial Road or north off of Highway 10. Once in front of the Bultman Center, a head coach or an Event Staff Administrator will greet you.

Bus Parking – Buses can be parked on the south end of Parking Lot I or the larger Parking Lot H found to the northeast of the Bultman Center.

Locker Rooms – A locker room will be assigned for each team upon entering the Bultman Center. The Event Staff Administrator will provide you will a key for you to lock the room when it is not in use. Upon leaving, return the key to the Event Staff Administrator or leave the key in the locker room on the drinking fountain.

Juffer Athletic Fieldhouse (#31 on Campus Map) Sports Used – Indoor Baseball, Softball and Soccer

Drop Off Location – The front entrance to the Juffer Athletic Fieldhouse can be accessed from the north off of Highway 10 to the west of Taco John’s. The head coach will greet you once your arrive.

Bus Parking – Vans and Buses can be parked in Lot F to the west of the Fieldhouse.

Locker Rooms – The head coach will take you to the public locker room in the Rowenhorst Student Center (Building #30). Page 8 | 13

MOC-FV Baseball/Softball Complex Sports Used – Baseball and Softball

Location – The MOC-FV Baseball/Softball Complex is located on the campus of MOC- FV High School at 615 8th St SE, Orange City. Entrance to the facility is located to the west of the school off Frankfort Ave SE.

Drop Off Location – Team drop-off can be near the respective field. The head coach will greet you once you arrive.

Bus Parking – School vans and buses can be parked in the adjacent parking lot. Please be sensitive to fans when parking larger vehicles in this parking lot.

Outdoor Tennis Courts (#17 on Campus Map) Sports Used – Men’s and Women’s Tennis

Drop Off Location – Access to the tennis courts is on the east side of Parking Lot B. You can enter the parking lot off of Albany Ave, just north of Jaycee Park. The head coach or administrator will greet you once you arrive.

Bus Parking – School vehicles and Buses can be parked in Parking Lot B in front of the evergreen trees, near the courts.

ATHLETIC TRAINING CLINIC

The Northwestern College Athletic Training Clinic is located in the south wing of the Bultman Center, south of the gym. The AT Clinic will be open at least one hour prior to games and as needed following games. We will supply teams with water, cups, and ice on the bench.

If your team will be traveling without a Certified Athletic Trainer, and you will need supplies other than anything previously mentioned, please contact Head Athletic Trainer Seth Wolles ([email protected]) at least 24 hours prior to the event. We will do our best to accommodate you.

Athletic Services Information

• Therapeutic modalities are available with a note from a medical professional • Supplies are limited, so please plan accordingly • Ice and ice bags will be provided. • Water bottles will not be provided. • Sweat towels will not be provided.

COVID-19 Screening Protocols

• The GPAC requires visiting teams to be screened by their own medical staff whenever possible. • Visiting teams not able to be screened prior to arrival are requested to contact the Head Athletic Trainer no less than 24 hours before the contest and submit a travel roster. • If needed, the Head Athletic Trainer will communicate where and when screening will take place for each event. • Screening will be done prior to entry into locker room or use of facilities

NWC SPORTS INFORMATION PROTOCOLS

All media and sports information must give minimum 48 hour notice of planned attendance by emailing Matt Bos at [email protected] or calling 712-707-7289.

All media and sports information personnel must be screened by NWC Athletic Training staff prior to working an event at Northwestern College. Masks must be worn, and physical distancing must be observed throughout the contest.

Bultman Gym

• Working space for individuals in the north balcony. • Electricity and wireless internet will be available. • Courtside photography and video shooting is allowed while observing physical distancing. • Box scores during the game will be delivered to coaching staffs and media. DO NOT approach the head table. • Stats will be delivered. • Live stats during the game, full box score and play by play files will be available online at www.nwcraiders.com and https://nwcraiders.com/sidearmstats/wvball/summary.

De Valois Field Press Box

• Space in south end of the press box will be provided for two Media and Sports Information Representatives (preference given to radio play-by-play coverage and sports information). Internet and electricity are available. • Sideline photography and video shooting is allowed while observing physical distancing. • Live stats during the game and full box score and play by play files will be available online at www.nwcraiders.com and https://nwcraiders.com/sidearmstats/football/summary. • Printed copies of stats for media will be available at the end of every quarter and at the conclusion of the game. • Windows should be kept open.

Soccer Field Press Box

• Space for one media member or Sports Information Representative. • Windows should be kept open. • Electricity and internet available. • Sideline photography and video shooting is allowed while observing physical distancing.

TICKETING INFORMATION

Admission will be charged for the following events:  Volleyball  Football  Men’s and Women’s Basketball  All GPAC Conference Tournament Events  All NAIA Qualifying Events

General Admission = $8 for adults; $3 for Students  Admission is free for current GPAC students and staff with current ID for all regular season GPAC contests.

Capacity Limits – Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, per GPAC and NAIA guidelines, our facilities will be limiting capacity in events to 50%. For this reason, once capacity is entry will be closed, regardless of a pass.

FAN PARKING

Fans can be directed to parking in the appropriate parking lots closest to the venue.
