Also known as Vale Tudo, No Holds Barred (NHB), Cage Fighting, Ultimate Fighting, Pride Fighting, Sougo Kakutogi Focus Various Hardness Full contact Olympic sport No Mixed martial arts (MMA), popularly known as cage fighting or ultimate fighting is a full contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills, from a mixture of other combat sports, to be used in competitions. The rules allow the use of both striking as well as grappling techniques, both while standing and while on the ground. Such competitions allow fighters of different backgrounds to compete. The roots of modern mixed martial arts can be traced back to various mixed style contests that took place throughout Europe, Japan and the Pacific Rim during the early 1900s. The combat sport of Vale Tudo that had developed in Brazil from the 1920s was brought to the United States by the Gracie family in 1993 with the founding of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Professional MMA events had also been held in Japan by Shooto starting back in 1989. In due course the more dangerous Vale Tudo style bouts of the early UFCs were made safer with the implementation of additional rules, leading to the popular regulated form of MMA seen today. Originally promoted as a competition with the intention of finding the most effective martial arts for real unarmed combat situations,

  • Ufc® Returns to the Venetian Macao to Host Second Fight Night of 2014
UFC® RETURNS TO THE VENETIAN MACAO TO HOST SECOND FIGHT NIGHT OF 2014 SINGAPORE – Cementing a commitment to the burgeoning MMA scene in Asia and with Sands China Ltd., The Ultimate Fighting Championship® returns to Cotai Arena in Macao for a second time in 2014, and third overall, on Saturday, August 23 with UFC® Fight Night Macao: Bisping vs. Le. Headlined by Vietnamese born Cung Le (9-2, fighting out of San Jose, California), the former Strikeforce middleweight champion and legend of combat sports returns to the Octagon for the first time since a dominant knockout of Rich Franklin in the same arena in 2012. After a successful stint coaching and teaching on The Ultimate Fighter China, Le looks to use his impressive arsenal of wrestling, Tae-Kwon-Do, Kung Fu and Sanshou in laying claim to the title of most entertaining fighter of his generation. Standing in the way will be formidable UFC veteran and The Ultimate Fighter Season 3 champion Michael “The Count” Bisping (25-6, fighting out of Orange County, California by way of Manchester, England). A polarizing figure to fans, no one can dispute Bisping’s skills as he’s racked up three Fight of the Night bonuses and eight TKO victories in his long UFC career. With notable wins over Alan Belcher, Brian Stann and Chris Leben, the one thing that has eluded Bisping has been the UFC belt and a win over Cung Le would show the middleweight division that Bisping is ready to make one more title run. “We’re excited to announce our return to Macao and the Cotai Arena, a venue that has seen incredible UFC performances over the last two years,” said Mark Fischer, UFC Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Asia.

Mixed martial arts involves bouts between highly trained athletes skilled in various martial and combat arts, including karate, jiu-jitsu, boxing, kickboxing, grappling, judo, Muay Thai, and freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. Mixed martial arts matches promoted by the Ultimate Fighting Championship® (“UFC”), the world’s largest professional mixed martial arts promoter, regularly fill the nation’s—and indeed, the world’s—largest arenas. The viewership of mixed martial arts on network and pay-per-view (“PPV”) television now far outstrips that of professional boxing and wrestling. • Featured at NEPCON China and Smtconnect FREMONT, Calif
Featured at NEPCON China and SMTconnect FREMONT, Calif. & TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Saki Corporation, an innovator in the field of automated optical and x-ray inspection and measurement equipment, announces the release of its new 2Di-LU1 inline bottom-side automated optical inspection (AOI) system at NEPCON China, Shanghai, China, and SMTconnect, Nuremberg, Germany. German translation: https://www.sakiglobal.com/2d-bottom-side-aoi-german.pdf Saki’s 2D line-scan technology is ultra-fast, capturing the image of an entire 460x500mm printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) and carriers of 610x610mm in one pass, in real time, storing the image into memory, and creating inspection data for the entire board. This versatile system automates the bottom-side inspection process, eliminates board flipping and handling, and ensures quality after the potting, dip, wave, and selective soldering processes. The 2Di-LU1 software includes Saki’s proprietary Fujiyama algorithm, which provides complete through-hole joint inspection in a single step. It simultaneously inspects for copper exposure, pin detection, pin-holes, solder llet abnormalities, missing components, soldering problems, and bridges. Saki’s inspection software has been used for extra component detection of solder balls and foreign objects and through-hole device inspection in the automotive industry for several years and complies with the IPC-A-610 standard. “Incorporating bottom-side AOI into the assembly process increases productivity by reducing the time, costs, labor, and floorspace needed for manual inspection, additional conveyors, or equipment to flip the board,” explained Yoshihiro Akiyama, chief technical officer, Saki Corporation. “Saki’s system speeds the inspection process, increases throughput, and eliminates extra PCBA handling and the risk of substrate damage.” The platform and construction of the 2Di-LU1 bottom-side AOI system is based on Saki’s rigid, time-tested hardware that ensures very stable machine performance and long hardware life.
