Please note: This is not a tour. The Citadel Theatre will contract artists for its dates with an Edmonton point of origin. The Arts Club Theatre Company will contract artists for its dates as a Revival as per Article 18:41 of the CTA with a Vancouver point of origin.

Please Note: Unless specified, all roles are open to artists of all ages and ethnicities.

Young Elvis – 9 years old. Elvis as a young child – a charming, caring and compassionate little boy with a love for the blues.

Elvis – The king of rock and roll. A driven, dedicated, and charming young man with a love for music above anything else. Actor must play guitar. Gladys Presley – 60s – The true leader of the Presley family. A driven and passionate woman who loves her son more than anything.

Sam Phillips – 50s – Founder of Sun Records and Sun Studio in Memphis where Elvis got his start. An opinionated man whose love for rock and roll runs deep.

Colonel Tom Parker – 60s – Elvis’ manager and the reason he became a huge star. A true American business man.

Scotty Moore – A successful guitar player who got paired with Elvis at the beginning of his professional career, and quickly becomes his best friend and guitar player. Actor must play guitar.

Bill Black – A successful bass player who later becomes good friend with Elvis. Described as ‘one of the pioneers of rock and roll’. Actor must play stand-up bass.

Only main characters are noted for Ensemble - all tracks will play multiple characters.

Ensemble Male #1 - Dewey Phillips – Outgoing and eccentric radio host with a frantic delivery and entertaining sense of humour. Loves music more than anything.

Ensemble Male #2 (African American) – 60s – Johnny - Elvis’ childhood neighbour. A man who loves the blues. Actor must play guitar.

Ensemble Male #3 (African American) - 60s – Otis - Johnny’s best friend. Also a lover of blues. Actor must play harmonica.

Ensemble Male #4 – 60s – Vernon Presley - Vernon is Elvis’ Dad. A family man of sorts who fell in and out of hard times during Elvis’ childhood.

Ensemble Female #1 - Marion Keiser/Nancy Sinatra – Sam Phillips’ secretary and friend. A real jack-of-all-trades. Nancy is Frank Sinatra’s oldest daughter, an actress and musician, most wildly known for her hit song ‘These Boots Are Made For Walking”

Ensemble Female #2 - – Young actress and budding business woman who doesn’t love the limelight that follows her new husband, .

Ensemble Female #3 (African American) - Elvis’ childhood neighbour. A nice, motherly woman. Johnny’s wife.

Ensemble Female #4 - Dixie – Dixie is Elvis’ high school sweetheart who encourages him to follow his passion for music.

Ensemble Female #5 (African American) – Betty – Young record store clerk who meets Elvis at a young age and introduces him to the music he grows to love.
