United Church Guild Held Meeting The Ballard Vale United Church Guild held its first fall meeting ANNO ING last Thursday night, with a covered dish supper. Following the supper, slides, movies and photos of sum- mer trips, all taken by the mem- bers, were shown. Taylor, executive airector of the Board of Regional Community Colleges, spoke at the Fall Luncheon of the League of Women Voters Sept. 20. The local community only furnishes existing buildings. Cost per pupil of a community college is much less than either regular state uni- versities or private ones for many reasons. Elaborate buildings, campuses and stadiums are not apart of the program. Part-time teachers can be used. Neither dormatories nor cafeterias are included in the plans. Mr. Taylor is working at this time on plans for community col- leges opening in I laverhill, Hyannis and Boston in the fall of 1961.
