VALUABLE TO GOD!

“He (God) who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things.” (Ro.8:32 NIV) This is an amazing verse! God thought so much of his human creation, including what he purposed to accomplish in and through them that he did not spare his own Son, Jesus Christ, to make it possible for man to come back to God from their sin and rebellion.

All have sinned. There is none righteous, no not one. Everyone has turned to his own way. (Ro.3: 23, 10; Is.53:6) This is clear in the Bible and very evident in real life. But God has laid on him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all. (Is.53:6b) We are all in the same boat of sin and separated from God, but through Christ God has made a way back. God gave Christ up, sacrificed his Son on a cross, for us all. Amen! He was willing to pay this high price. We are valuable to God! Pastor Dale Barnes

How will he not also—this “also” tells us that through this same Jesus, his son, he will bring to completion all his will in our lives. He works in us to will (desire) and to do his good pleasure. (Phil.2:13) God will make every situation that comes into our lives work to make us like his son, Jesus. These circumstances include “troubles” along with “blessings.” Yet, in reality, they are all blessings in making us what he wants us to be. The Apostle makes it clear that the sufferings of this life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that we will share with Christ. (Ro.8:18) The challenges and difficulties of life are opportuni- ties from God. “If indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” (Ro.8:17 NIV)

Why does God tell us these things? God is challenging us to see Christ as his love gift to us. We are to trust him, submit to him and follow his will for our lives. As we do this, God will give us “all things” that are needed to fulfill his best in and through us. In his eternal kingdom, when this present world is gone, we will share in Christ’s glory and purposes forever. We are valuable to God!
