Bold Body Bronzing to Sponsor the 2013 Miss Usa® Pageant BOLD BODY BRONZING TO SPONSOR THE 2013 MISS USA® PAGEANT The Mobile, Sunless Tanning Service Provider will Partner with the Miss Universe Organization to Spray Tan the 2013 Miss USA Contestants for the Preliminary Competition and Telecast LAS VEGAS—May 6, 2013— BOLD Body Bronzing, the Las Vegas-based beauty brand, will sponsor the 62nd annual MISS USA® Pageant, which will air LIVE on NBC Sunday, June 16 (9 p.m. ET) from PH Live in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. “We are very happy to announce our partnership with BOLD Body Bronzing as a sponsor of this year’s MISS USA pageant,” said Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization. “Safe, sunless tanning is a very important part of the pageant process and we could not be more pleased to be able to offer the best spray tanning service in Las Vegas to our contestants.” BOLD Body Bronzing founder, Kamela Brewer said, “I am honored to be part of the 2013 MISS USA® pageant! I have had the privilege of spray tanning many of the amazing contestants and associates of the organization the past few years, but to be involved officially could not make us more thrilled!” The 2013 MISS USA® Competition will feature contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Contestants will be judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. The show concludes with one contestant ultimately being crowned Miss USA 2013. Last year's telecast concluded with Olivia Culpo, Miss Rhode Island USA, being crowned Miss USA 2012. After Culpo won the title of Miss Universe last December, first runner-up Nana Meriwether, Miss Maryland USA, assumed the role of Miss USA 2012. The MISS USA telecast now reaches approximately 90 countries and territories. Pam Wilson and Alex Kuty of Top Ten Productions Inc., in Southern California have been selected to oversee and produce the 2014 MISS CALIFORNIA USA® and MISS CALIFORNIA TEEN USA® pageants, the winners of which will compete at a National level next year at MISS USA and MISS TEEN USA. Pam Wilson has over thirty years of event, pageant and fashion production experience and has served several years as a local director for the Miss California USA system. Pam has an impressive track record in the pageant industry. Many of her titleholders have won the state crown and gone on to place at Nationals. Alex Kuty, a special events manager and publicist for SeaWorld, is a former San Diego Chargers Cheerleader and has many years of pageant experience including serving as the producer and choreographer for several USA state pageants in California, New York and New Hampshire. Debbie Miller and Cindy Provost of D&D Investments Inc., have been tapped to run the MISS NEW YORK USA and MISS NEW YORK TEEN USA pageants and Laurie and Anthony Clemente of Clemente Productions will be taking over the New Hampshire pageants.     CSM Stepping Stone for Miss Maryland/USA Posted by TBN On 06/21/2011 For Allyn Rose, of Newburg, attending the College of Southern Maryland was a stepping stone not only to college life but also to a crown. The 22-year-old and former CSM student is the current Miss Maryland USA and competed for the Miss USA title on June 19 in Las Vegas, reaching the semi-finals. Rose attended CSM for one semester in 2006 and said it helped her to find herself before transferring to the University of Maryland (UMD). Rose was recruited to play for the Hawks by CSM Head Volleyball Coach Michelle Ruble, who said it was Rose’s vertical leap that first caught her attention at La Plata High School but that she also saw pluses in Rose’s leadership skills, work ethic and strong academics. Already accepted to attend UMD in 2006, Rose deferred admission to play for CSM. “Ally was a hard sell because she was concerned about being challenged academically,” Ruble said. Rose not only found CSM courses to be challenging, she also found instructors who were supportive. She recalls her communications professor being very tough, but that the rigor helped her develop interpersonal and public speaking skills. To be successful in pageantry, Rose said, “You have to know how to speak, conduct yourself and your body language. There were a lot of intricacies she taught me that definitely helped out.” Rose also recalls the support she received from her English professor, William Barton and the volleyball coaching staff. “They were all great, great people—very supportive.
