Instructions on quarantine for foreign degree students arriving in , Savonia University of Applied Sciences

If you arrive in Finland from a country with continued travel restrictions, Savonia requires that you stay in voluntary quarantine for 14 days. Quarantine means that a person avoids close contact with others whenever possible and stays at home.

It is possible that you have got infected by the coronavirus even before the actual symptoms break out. Quarantine prevents infections from any asymptomatic carrier entering the country to other people. Note that the quarantine recommendation is valid even if you have been tested for coronavirus and received a negative result. This is because the test result indicates the situation at the time of the test. A negative test result does not exclude getting infected after testing or being pre-symptomatic. Every Finnish resident and every person visiting Finland has a joint responsibility to make sure that the COVID-19 epidemic does not accelerate uncontrollably.
