Each varietal was individually fermented and aged, then drawn from barrels and blended prior to bottling.

Our current release from the 2012 vintage is the result of a growing season that saw minimal frost, mild weather without extended heat waves, and huge yields for growers all around Napa Valley. Made with Merlot grapes harvested from Gargiulo Vineyards in Oakville, a grower we have been working with since 2007.
After harvest we utilized extended maceration (soaking the juice with skins and seeds as long as possible to extract color and tannins) to create a beautifully dark and complex wine that was then sent to barrel for 24 months.

Harvested from family-owned vineyards in Saint Helena, the 2013 Cabernet Franc is a wonderful expression of a lesser-known Napa Valley varietal. Classic Cabernet Franc that offers a lighter body and more peppery notes than our staple Cabernet Sauvignon, with delicious favors of blac berry and plum.
Many people have asked us if Cabernet Franc is the same as Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s close (genetically), but a bit different in taste. This is because Cabernet Franc is one of the two parent varietals of Cabernet Sauvignon, the other being Sauvignon Blanc. Enjoy!

Winemakers Notes: As one the of the four Bordeaux wines used in blending into Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc is known for its aromatic qualities of foral violet, rich blueberry, and dark plum. Luscious deep red and burgundy purple in color, the immediate aromatics of this Cabernet Franc are of deep dark cherry, anise, and plum. Aged 14 months in select French oak barrels, delicate cedar cigar box aromas allow the fruit expression to prevail.Soft velvet tannins add to the mouthfeel as plum, raspberry, mushroom and black pepper come together in a classic expression of Bordeaux varietal fruit. As beautiful and youthfull, this wine has the tannins and acidity to age well for 6-8 years in the cellar.

The Gibbs 2014 Three Clones Cabernet Sauvignon is the result of a superb growing year in Napa Valley. Consistently warm weather with few heat spikes and little threat of rain during harvest allowed us to pick at optimal ripeness to balance tannins, sugar levels, and favor.
Three Clones Cabernet Sauvignon owes its name to the three Cabernet clones grown on the estate, 6 | 15 | 337, that create the base for this delicious wine. Each clone adds unique character and complexity to the blend. Upon opening, you are greeted by mouthwatering aromas of ripe black cherries and the tantalizing dusty smell of french oak. Winemakers Notes: Gibbs Three Clones Cabernet Sauvignon is the result of a superb growing year in our own St. Helena vineyards and throughout the Napa Valley. A consistently high temperature growing season made for choice fruit dense in color and favor. Three Clones Cabernet Sauvignon owes its name to the Cabernet clones grown on the estate, 6, 15, and 337, that create the base of this delicious wine. Each clone adds unique character, complexity, and depth to the Cabernet. On the nose there are aromas of ripe black cherries and dusty French oak with a textured mid-palate bursting with plum, stewed dark fruits, and notes of black pepper. Soft, sizable tannins make for a smooth and silky fnish.

Gibbs 2014 Russian River Chardonnay was sourced from the Bacigalupi Vineyard. Barrel fermented in 60% new French oak and stirred on the lees, this is a beautiful Burgundian style Chardonnay. Aromas of honey suckle, vanilla and a hint of oak give way to a round, luscious body of melon, peach, apricot, and pear. Winemakers Notes: We proudly make this Sauvignon Blanc from one of our two estate vineyards in St. Helena, the Centa Vineyard. Grown in deep rich soils in the most narrow section of the Napa Valley along the Napa River at Lodi Lane, the fruit ripens with a predominance of classic Sauvignon Blanc favor and a succulent balance of acidity. Picked in the cool of the night, crushed, settled, and then fermented in stainless steel, the wine is aged in tank for fve months.
Cool temperatures throughout retain the luscious fruit aroma and favor in this full bodied classic Sauvignon Blanc. Lemon peel, pear, guava, and honeydew aromas turn to green apple, melon, and lychee on the palate.
