Wednesday, 25 February 2009

Municipal administration’s initiative for collecting and disposal of large size waste on the territory of municipality continues. It started during the previous summer, when dustbins turned into piles of old furniture and damaged appliances.

A quick inquiry reveals that “Titan”, the company in charge of waste collection in Burgas, transports about 1800 tons of large size and construction waste monthly. Large size waste is that king of waste, which can not be put in the dustbins because of their bigger size and weight and they are difficult to pick up. These are for example out-of-use furniture, stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, TV sets, etc.

There is no deadline for the initiative. The objective is the waste, that causes ugly scenery and block the town to be timely cleaned, so that Burgas has the appearance of a modern European town.

The Municipality of Burgas appeals to citizens to keep supporting the initiative and continue putting their large size waste near the dustbins according to the existing fixed schedule for their collecting. In case the fixed date for large size waste disposal is missed, citizens can leave their waste near the bins of the next area, appointed in the schedule.

According to the schedule citizens should throw out their old or unnecessary things during the weekends, so that the company

Waste in Central urban area and “Vazrazhdane” will be disposed every first weekend of the month. In “Bratya Miladinovi” and “Lazur” it will be disposed every second weekend of the month. The third one is for “Slaveykov”, “Izgrev” and “Zornitsa” and the fourth – for “Meden Rudnik”, “Akatsii” and “Pobeda”.
