Léonie Masson—Senior Heritage Consultant, Historian

Léonie Masson is a historian with over 20 years’ experience. Léonie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Library Science) from the University of Technology and a Graduate Diploma of Local and Applied History from the University of New England.

Léonie has vast experience as a researcher and historian, and an extensive knowledge of documentary resources, local government records, local and state archives and national institutions.

She has prepared site histories, significance assessments and site descriptions for a broad range of reports for private, institutional and local, state and Commonwealth government clients, including conservation/heritage management plans, statements of heritage impact, heritage assessments, and heritage interpretation plans and strategies. Her work has spanned a diverse array of sites in NSW, Queensland, Victoria and South , from residential and education projects to rural grain

silos to inner-city heritage conservation areas.

Prior to joining GML, Léonie worked in heritage consultancies, as a Qualifications freelance historian and as a senior historical services librarian. She has Bachelor of Arts (Library Science), University of Technology Sydney experience in acquiring, cataloguing and indexing historical collections and Graduate Diploma of Local and Applied History, creating online research databases for a range of clients.
