Community Affairs Leader 2014 Global impact, local leadership

Synopsys recognized Armenia site Community involvement activities that showcase the dedication and corporate social responsibility of Synopsys employees and the positive impact in local community throughout the year.

The President of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia (UMBA) Arsen Ghazaryan handed Synopsys President & co-CEO Chi-Foon Chan the Gold Medal and Certificate of Recognition of UMBA.

Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, granted Chi- Foon Chan with the Gold Medal of the Ministry of Education and Science for outstanding contributions to Armenia’s IT higher education system.

The open air fest with live music, national dances, delicious food and traditional Armenian festivities made the special day for synopsiods and honorable guests an unforgettable one.

All rights reserved. 15 9th Annual International Microelectronics Olympiad of Armenia This year the Olympiad involved young participants from 22 countries: Argentina, Armenia, Belarus, China, Egypt, Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Jordan, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, UAE, UK, Ukraine, Uruguay, USA and Vietnam

Out the 856 participants in the first stage of the Olympiad, 207 were from Armenia and Artsakh, 649 were from abroad.

Of 856 participants, 42 were qualified to progress to the second stage held on October 16 in Yerevan at Synopsys’ Armenia Education Department (SAED).

This year, the RA Presidential award has been handed to 26 students and 16 schoolchildren from 5 higher education institutions and 8 high schools.

On October 16, 2014, during the 10th award ceremony of the best IT students at the Presidential House, the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan presented Dr. Chi-Foon Chan, Synopsys President and Co-CEO, with a special award as recognition of Synopsys’ significant contribution to Armenia’s engineering excellence through the cultivation of innovative R&D talent in the country.
