"The best is yet to come."

We would like to wish all our parents, Facilitators, dear students and other stakeholders - a safe, happy New Year. Though, this year has been different for obvious reasons, but despite the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, New Year spirit has been evident albeit more subdued than normal.

It is our mission to see all our students. The efforts of many people have come to the fore in keeping spirits high. In particular, we would like to thank all the students who have performed various activities of the school throughout the year and the parents for encouraging them to participate.

To attain real peace in our country and in the world, we have first to formulate inner harmony. This is only possible when we trim down our negative thoughts and enhance positive attitudes by developing love and compassion, tolerance and understanding among fellow human beings. We must learn to appreciate, and to value, each other as human beings and thus to live together in goodwill.

Let us live every moment with peace towards others. Let us not postpone the good things that we could do now. A little act of kindness, a smile, a gentle word of appreciation, a positive remark etc. that bring cheers into others life. Let’s reach out to the needy as a brother, a sister, or a friend.

Let we all Open the book with blank pages. We are going to fill words on it by ourselves. The book is called opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day."

India- Land of Farmers

Farmers are the strength of the country. India rejoices Farmers Day in the remembrance of Chaudhary Charan Singh, the ex-Prime Minister. He was principally a farmer and his individual way of

life was exceptionally plain.

Chaudhary Charan Singh is attributed to invent and execute the well-known Zamindari

Abolition Act. His ardent petition and compelling personality unified all the farmers against the

landlords and moneylenders. He was even a very efficient author and expressed his feelings on farmers and their issues and remedies. Charan Singh died on 29 May 1987. Kisan Divas is appreciated for his precious services for the farmers of our nation.

The entire country rejoices Farmer's day. Farmers and people of rural society held

agricultural concerts, celebrations and pay reverence to their adored leader. Fresh

policies related to farming, agriculture, seeds, etc are even declared by the

government.

Chaudhary Charan Singh was a lad of the soil and has done various deeds to enhance the scenario of Indian agriculture. His short continuance at the pinnacle has showcased a swing of agricultural reforms and policies introduced in India. Charan Singh’s farmer background assisted him to comprehend the actual constraints of the farmer and he contributed a lot to support them.

Jesus Christ, the son of God. Do you know that the name 'Christmas' comes from the Mass of Christ or Jesus.

Christmas Day 2020: Christmas festival is the time when family, friends, and relatives come together and celebrate with full of joy. Children are mostly excited due to the gifts they receive from Santa Claus. Therefore, we can say that in the Christmas celebration there is a mythical figure named Santa Claus that plays an important role. There are lots of interpretations regarding the name of Christmas and why it is celebrated. One of them is, Eucharist or Communion is a Mass service where Jesus died for his people and then came back to life. Therefore, the 'Christ-Mass' is the service that took place after dusk and before dawn on the next day and so the trend of

Midnight started. And this way we got the name Christ-Mas that is Christmas.

Origin of Christmas The first known date of Christmas being rejoiced on December 25th was in 336 AD, through the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine who was the first Christian Roman Emperor. After some years, Pope Julius I formally announced that the birth of Jesus would rejoiced on the 25th December.

ART INTEGRATION –Tamilnadu pairs with Jammu and Kashmir

India’s, world’s largest democracy also signifies the universal theme unity in diversity.

No wonder the nation stands united in fighting the covid-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that cultural diversity is a joy that ought to be celebrated through mutual interaction and reciprocity between people of different States so that a common spirit of understanding resonates throughout the country.

Ek Bharat Shresta Bharat was announced by PM on 31st October 2015, the 140th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who united the modern day Bharat, India. As per EBSB, every state and union territory would be paired with another State/UT for a year, during which they would carry out engagements with one another in the spheres of language, literature, cuisine, festivals, cultural events, tourism etc. Tamil Nadu is paired with Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh under Ek Bharat Shresta Bharat. Jammu Kashmir - the northernmost state was linked with Tamil Nadu the southern most state to really indicate the diversified culture and customs. There are more differences than similarities between the two states with climates reaching extreme proportions.

Kashmir has its own tourist destinations like Gulmarg, Srinagar, Sonamarg while Tamil Nadu has Ootty, Kodaikanal and Yercaud. There are enchanting waterfalls like Aharbal, Noori Chamb, Zabarvan in Jammu Kashmir while Kuttalam, Thriparappu, Hogenakkal, attract tourists in Tamil Nadu.

Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh has uniqueness of snow and ice while Tamil Nadu has its long coastline. Perhaps the climate has brought in entirely diversified way of dressing. However, the love for dance and music is common for both the states. Tamil Nadu is rich in classical dance with Bharatanatyam topping the list. The Maharajas of Chola Pallava and Pandya have encouraged dance forms with temples like Chidambaram Nataraja temple and Thanjavur Brihadeeswara temple are standing testimonies of dance art forms. Folk dances like Karakattam, Kolattam, Mayil Aattam ,Poikkal Kuthirai Aattam, Thappatam, Koothu dance are popular in each areas of the state. Jammu Kashmir also has its unique form of dances like Dumhal dance where people dress up wearing vibrant colours. Rouf dance is performed on on festive occasions like Eid and Ramzan days. Bachha Nagma is performed during weddings and performed by boys. Wugi Nachun dance is performed after the wedding rituals and when bride is about to leave her home. Kashmiri shawls, Kashmiri mirchi, Kashmiri saffron are quite popular down south while pepper and other spices from south is popular in north. Rice is common for both the states and tea is popular drink. JOURNALORDS – month of December 2020 19

Covid 19 pandemic has affected tourism industry as transportation of people is curtailed to control spread of disease. Dattatreya Ramchandra Kaprekar (1905 –1986) was an Indian recreational mathematician who described several classes of natural numbers including the Kaprekar, harshad and self numbers and discovered the Kaprekar's constant, named after him. Despite having no formal postgraduate training and working as a schoolteacher, he published extensively and became well known in recreational mathematics circles.

Kaprekar received his secondary school education in Thane and studied at Fergusson College in Pune. In 1927 he won the Wrangler R. P. Paranjpe Mathematical Prize for an original piece of work in mathematics. He attended the University of Mumbai, receiving his bachelor's degree in 1929. Having never received any formal postgraduate training, for his entire career (1930–1962) he was a schoolteacher at Nashik in Maharashtra, India. He published extensively, writing about such topics as recurring decimals, magic squares, and integers with special properties. He is also known as "Ganitanand". Kaprekar discovered a number of results in number theory and described various properties of numbers. He also constructed certain types of magic squares related to the Copernicus magic square. Today his name is well-known and many other mathematicians have pursued the study of the properties he discovered. Kaprekar's constant In 1949, Kaprekar discovered an interesting property of the number 6174, which was subsequently named the Kaprekar constant. He showed that 6174 is reached in the limit as one repeatedly subtracts the highest and lowest numbers that can be constructed from a set of four digits that are not all identical. Thus, starting with 1234, we have: 4321 − 1234 = 3087, then 8730 − 0378 = 8352, and 8532 − 2358 = 6174.

Repeating from this point onward leaves the same number (7641 − 1467 = 6174). In general, when the operation converges it does so in at most seven iterations.

A similar constant for 3 digits is 495. However, in base 10 a single such constant only exists for numbers of 3 or 4 digits; for other digit lengths or bases other than 10, the Kaprekar's routine algorithm described above may in general terminate in multiple different constants or repeated cycles, depending on the starting value.

Office lens

It is not always possible for everyone to attend each and every class. For some or other reasons, each of us will miss a class at some point in time. In that case, it becomes really difficult to cover all the notes by copying them down, so most of us usually click pictures to keep them in a digital form. But when we have to review them, all of it looks like a mess. Well, that can be avoided if you use Office Lens. Office Lens does one simple thing which is clicking pictures. But not the normal ones that you can take using your smartphone camera app, rather it has been developed specifically to take pictures of documents. Irrespective of the angle that you click a picture from, the result would be great. The app has options for clicking images of different sources like documents, whiteboards, or business cards. You can organise the pictures right within the app and create a PDF for all your pictures. For example, you can create a pdf which might represent a lecture or a chapter. These features are really helpful. Finally, you can easily share these pictures with anyone else

who needs them.
