Established in 1978 with a commitment to the purposes, fundamental policies and basic principles of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) has grown to embody the vision established by the founders of the organization and has melded athletic and academic excellence for more than 35 years.

The GLVC, which at one point over the past decade grew to 17 members and was the largest athletic conference in the country at any division, has fully embraced NCAA Division II. Although formed and developed as one of the nation’s premier NCAA Division II basketball conferences, the GLVC now sponsors 21 championship sports, which has included the recent additions of football in 2012, men’s and women’s swimming and diving in 2013-14, and men’s wrestling in 2016. The conference headquarters are located in downtown Indianapolis, one of the many major Midwest media markets in which the league maintains a presence. The GLVC has schools in Milwaukee/Northern Illinois (Wisconsin-Parkside), Chicago (Lewis), Indianapolis (Indianapolis), Louisville (Bellarm- ine), Evansville (Southern Indiana), Springfield, Ill. (Illinois Springfield), Springfield, Mo. (Drury), Kansas City (Rockhurst, William Jewell) and St. Louis (Maryville, McKendree, Missouri-St. Louis). The GLVC sponsors 21 championships in basketball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming and diving, indoor and outdoor track and field, tennis and wrestling for men, and basketball, cross country, softball, soccer, tennis, swimming and diving, indoor and outdoor track and field, golf and volleyball for women. While GLVC schools have captured 16 NCAA Division II national championships, the conference has been just as impressive in the classroom. The 2015-16 academic year saw the league’s 16 member institutions produce a record 2,584 Academic All-GLVC recipients. That marked the sixth consecutive year that the GLVC saw a record number of Academic All-GLVC honorees. The conference also identified a record 356 student-athletes who earned the GLVC Council of Presidents’ Academic Excellence Award, which is presented to those who have exhausted eligibility in their respective sport and maintained at least a 3.5 grade-point average throughout their academic career. The GLVC Sports Network What is the GLVC Sports Network? The GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN) is the official streaming network of the Great Lakes Valley Conference – the first NCAA Division II conference to create an inclu- sive, league-wide network. Through its programming, GLVCSN showcases both the academic and athletic success of the Conference and its 16 member institutions.

What is on GLVCSN? GLVCSN serves as the official streaming platform for all GLVC member sports, regardless of league sponsorship. Since 2014, the Conference office streamed all 38 GLVC Championships while a total of 2,653 events across 16 of the league’s 21 sports were streamed on campus. A focus was placed on men’s and women’s basketball coverage for the 2015-16 season, while an emphasis on women’s vol- leyball and football will be the target for the 2016-17 campaign. Baseball, softball and soccer will become the focus of the 2017-18 academic season.

Will athletic events be the only content aired on GLVCSN? No. It is GLVCSN’s mission to showcase the complete student-athlete experience, ranging from competition and championships to the classroom and the community. Where Champions are Crowned! The GLVCSN will stream annual events such as the GLVC Football Kickoff and the Enterprise GLVC Awards Reception, while member institutions will be encouraged to provide additional content originated from its respective campuses.
