Material traces refer to both the moving image products and the assortment of documentation about the processes of television as industrial and creative endeavors. By identifying the development of television-specific archives and collecting areas in the 1950s to the 1970s, the dissertation contributes to television studies, specifically pointing out how television materials were conceived as cultural and historical materials “worthy” of preservation and academic study. -

UL cacti a Very little empirical research has been conducted on Asian Americans as a whole in relation to their consumer behavior, specifically their clothing behavior. A review of literature demonstrated that Asian Americans have been studied from different psychographic and sociological aspects. However, the apparel shopping behavior of this market has received only slight research attention. The purpose of this study was to compare Asian Americans and Caucasian Americans with regards to apparel shopping orientations. This study also examined the relationship between apparel shopping orientations and intensity of ethnic identification among Asian Americans. The multimediation model of consumer behavior (EKB model) proposed by Engel, Kollat and Blackwell (1973) was used as a theoretical framework for the present study. Based on the EKB model, it was expected that people of different cultural backgrounds were different in terms of their consumer behavior. Another conceptual framework used in the present study was the concept of shopping orientations, introduced by Stone (1954). Apparel shopping orientations refer to motivations, interests and attitudes toward apparel shopping. Seven shopping orientations were selected for the present study. They were: economic shopping, personalizing shopping, recreational shopping, social shopping (including friend social shopping and family social shopping), brand loyal shopping, impulse shopping and fashion orientations. The fashion orientation included four factors: fashion leadership, fashion interest, fashion importance and anti- fashion attitude. -

2016 Annual Report 2016 Annual Letter To our fellow shareholders: Well…. here we go. This letter is supposed to be my turn to tell you about Saga, but this year is a little different because it involves other people telling you about Saga. The following is a letter sent to the staff at WNOR FM 99 in Norfolk, Virginia. Directly or indirectly, I have been a part of this station for 35+ years. Let me continue this train of thought for a moment or two longer. Saga, through its stockholders, owns WHMP AM and WRSI FM in Northampton, Massachusetts. Let me share an experience that recently occurred there. Our General Manager, Dave Musante, learned about a local grocery/deli called Serio’s that has operated in Northampton for over 70 years. The 3rd generation matriarch had passed over a year ago and her son and daughter were having some difficulties with the store. Dave’s staff came up with the idea of a ‘‘cash mob’’ and went on the air asking people in the community to go to Serio’s from 3 to 5PM on Wednesday and ‘‘buy something.’’ That’s it. Zero dollars to our station. It wasn’t for our benefit. Community outpouring was ‘‘just overwhelming and inspiring’’ and the owner was emotionally overwhelmed by the community outreach. As Dave Musante said in his letter to me, ‘‘It was the right thing to do.’’ Even the local newspaper (and local newspapers never recognize radio) made the story front page above the fold. Permit me to do one or two more examples and then we will get down to business. -

The M Street Journal Radio's Journal of Record ' EW YORK NASHVILLE CAPSTAR ACROSS AFRICA. Capstar Broadcasting Partners will spend $60 million for twenty stations in four separate transactions covering five markets. Terms of the individual deals weren't disclosed. Two of the deals involve Point Communications, which is the managing partner of six stations in Madison, WI and owns five in the Roanoke - Lynchburg area, owned through a subsidiary. In Madison, the stations are standards WTSO; CHR WZEE; news -talk WIBA; rock WIBA -FM; new rock WMAD -FM, Sun Prairie, WI; and soft AC WMLI, Sauk City, WI. In Roanoke - Lynchburg -- oldies simulcast WLDJ, Appomattox and WRDJ, Roanoke; urban oldies WJJS, Lynchburg; and dance combo WJJS -FM, Vinton, and WJJX, Lynchburg. The third deal gives Capstar three stations in the Yuma, AZ market, including oldies KBLU, country KTTI, and classic rocker KYJT, from Commonwealth Broadcasting of Arizona, LLC. Finally, COMCO Broadcasting's Alaska properties, which include children's KYAK, CHR KGOT, and AC KYMG, all Anchorage; and news -talk KIAK, country KIAK -FM, and AC KAKQ -FM, all Fairbanks. WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' LICENSE . It's spent almost ten weeks on the air without a license, but the new religious -programmed station on 105.3 MHz in the Hartford, CT area, is being investigated by the Commission's New England Field Office. According to the Hartford Courant, Mark Blake is operating the station from studios in Bloomfield, CT, and says that he "stands behind" the station's operation. Although there have been no interference complaints filed, other stations in the area are claiming they are losing advertising dollars to the pirate. -
