Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy First (FADM) Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili@Suhaily calling on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this afternoon.

The Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) First Admiral (FADM) Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili@Suhaily called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen this afternoon. During the meeting, Dr Ng and FADM Haji Othman reaffirmed the close and long-standing bilateral defence relationship between Singapore and Brunei.

FADM Haji Othman, who is in Singapore for an introductory visit from 13 to 17 May 2019, also called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Melvyn Ong and Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Lew Chuen Hong after reviewing a Guard of Honour at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this afternoon. Earlier this week, FADM Haji Othman visited the 12th International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (IMDEX) Asia at Changi Exhibition Centre. He also visited the Formidable-class Frigate RSS Formidable at RSS Singapura – Changi Naval Base yesterday.

FADM Haji Othman's visit underscores the close and long-standing bilateral defence relations between Singapore and Brunei. The Republic of Singapore Navy and the RBN interact frequently through a wide range of activities, including professional exchanges. These regular interactions strengthen mutual understanding and professional ties among the personnel of both defence establishments.
