BRITISH SWIMMING ELITE INVITATION SWIM MEET (50m) 3rd – 6th June 2021

Para Swimming Events Supplementary Conditions

1. General Conditions a. The general conditions for the Meet shall apply to the Multi-Class Para Swimming events except where varied by any of the following supplementary conditions. b. The Multi-Class Para events shall be held under relevant World Para Swimming Rules except where varied by any of the following supplementary conditions. c. All classes of swimmer will compete together – Multi-Classification. d. This Meet is a WPS approved event. e. WPS Technical Protest and Appeal fees (WPS Rule 10.12) do not apply at this Meet.

2. Eligibility a. - - All competitors must have an authorised British Swimming or WPS Classification, which is held on the British Swimming or WPS Classification Database at the time of entry. b. S11- - All competitors must have an authorised British Blind Sport (BBS) or WPS Classification, which is held on the British Swimming or WPS Classification Database at the time of entry. c. - All competitors must have an authorised INAS-FID or WPS Classification, which is held on the British Swimming or WPS Classification Database at the time of entry. d. Competitors must belong to the British Para Swimming Elite return to training and competition programme or their home Federation equivalent programme. e. Entry into events will be by invitation of the LOC only and in accordance with the classification entry and events comprising the 2020 Paralympic swimming schedule. This includes individual events which would form part of a relay at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

3. The Events a. The following events are open for entry by both male and female swimmers. Freestyle 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m Breaststroke 50m, 100m Butterfly 50m, 100m Backstroke 50m, 100m Ind. Medley 150m, 200m

4. Meet Procedure a. All events will be swum as Multi-Classification (MC) events and combined within the main programme heats subject to the proviso of condition 4j set out below. b. The 150m Individual Medley may be swum as a mixed event in both heats and finals. c. All results will be determined by the highest points score utilising the British Para Swimming Points (BPSP) system. d. Heats seeding i. Heats will be seeded by entry time within the competition start sheets in accordance with Fina Swimming Rule SW3 e. The top 8 swimmers as determined by British Para Swimming Points (BPSP) from the heats will progress to a final. f. A maximum of three swimmers from any classification may progress to a final unless additional places are available. g. If necessary due to a dead heat of equal points which results in the number of finalists exceeding eight a swim-off may be used to determine swimmers for a final. h. There will be no reserves for the Finals. i. At the Promoters discretion a Para classified competitor may be invited to swim in a ‘B’ Final j. Final lane allocation will be seeded by qualification time in accordance with WPS rule 10.9.2. k. Where it is applicable the Meet Director may combine genders within an event provided there is a minimum of one empty lane is available between male and female swimmers

5. Accreditation a. All coaches and personal care attendants must have accreditation. Personal care attendants will only be permitted for swimmers where assistance is permitted on the code of exceptions. Such attendants will be excluded from any restrictions and will be given the same accreditation as the swimmer for whom they have personal care responsibilities. b. A swimmer who has assistance as specified above may have both a coach and a personal care assistant present. The personal care attendant accreditation will be free of charge.
