Effective January 1, 2010, in accordance with Motion 27-03-09, all clubs holding Agility Trials must offer Selected, Regular and Vet - erans Classes at all CKC approved trials. Listed below is the new Section 8.5, Veteran, of the Agility Rules & Regulations. For the breakdown of levels of competition please refer to Section 8.1.1 of the rule book. Questions should be directed to the Event Plan - ning Department in the Shows and Trials Division at CKC Head Office.

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION • A non-profit organization incorporated under the Canada Corporations Act. • Recognized as a registered charity in November 2007. • Dedicated to the enhancement of the health and welfare of canines to the mutual benefit of both dogs and people in Canadian society. • The Board includes representation from members of The Canadian Kennel Club, veterinarians, humane societies and other non-profit organizations.

The CKC Foundation is committed to the following activities:

SPONSORING RESEARCH The CKC Foundation will fund original research into the causes, diagvnosis and treatment of hereditary diseases in dogs.

Funding will support: • Research conducted at one of Canada’s five colleges of veterinary medicine. • Seminars and workshops to facilitate information-sharing of ideas and clinical results. • Education programs designed to enhance breeder awareness of hereditary diseases, genetics, anatomy, be - haviour and ethics.

PROMOTION OF THE HUMAN-ANIMAL BOND AND ITS BENEFITS The mutual benefits of the unique relationship between companion animals and humans have been well es - tablished and their recognition has been reflected in a growing number of organizations that are training dogs to aid people with disabilities and to assist in therapeutic services.

The CKC Foundation will: • Promote public awareness of the benefits that companion and service dogs bring to Canadian society through publications, newspaper articles and other media. • Encourage the development of programs to properly train service dogs and users. • Educate the public in the responsibilities of ownership through educational forums, printed materials and on-line ventures.

SUPPORT EFFECTIVE ANIMAL CONTROL LEGISLATION The CKC Foundation will attempt to foster co-operation with governments at all levels in Canada in an effort to forge a sound and consistent approach to animal control issues.
