Poems of Comfort Poems of Comfort When I Am Gone Love Lives On When I am gone, release me, let me go I have so many things to see and do, Those we love remain with us You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears, for love itselflives on, Be thankful for our many beautiful years. And cherished memories never fade I gave to you my love, you can only guess Because a love one's gone ... How much you gave to me in happiness. Those we love can never be I thank you fo r the love you each have shown, But now it's time I travel on alone. more than a thought apart So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must, For as long as there is memory, Then let your grief be comforted by trust. They'll live on in the heart. It is only for a time that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away, for life goes on, You Are Not Forgotten So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near. You are not forgotten, loved one And if you listen with your heart you'll hear, Nor will you ever be, All my love around you soft and clear. As long as life and memory last And then, When you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile, and say ... We will remember thee. "Welcon1e Home" We miss you now, our hearts are sore As time goes by we'll miss you more. Your loving smile, your gentle face, To Laugh Often and Much No one can fill your vacant place. "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; At the Rising of the Sun to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; At the rising of the sun to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; and it's going down, to leave the world a bit better WE REMEMBER THEM. whether by healthy child, a garden patch, At the blowing of the wind or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier and in the chill of winter, because you have lived. WE REMEMBER THEM. This is to have succeeded" In the opening of the buds -Ralph Waldo Emerson. and in the rebirth of the spring, WE REMEMBER THEM. At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer, WE REMEMBER THEM. At the rustling of the leaves and the beauty of autumn, WE REMEMBER THEM. As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us, As we remember them. 1 When I Must Leave You Fairways of Glory When I must leave you for a little while A dedication to the endless pursuit Please do not grieve and shed wild tears of the perfect game And hug your sorrow to you through the years Fond memories of the challenges But start out bravely with a gallant smile; Of the greens and trials of its traps And for my sake and in my name And now, the last putt has dropped into the cup of life live on and do all things the same; And the light of the day has faded Feed not your loneliness on empty days, Lord, it is now on your fairways of glory But fill each waking hour in useful ways, That the game will continue to be played. Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer And I in turn will comfort you And hold you near; Afterglow And never, never be afraid to die. I'd like the memory of me For I am waiting for you in the sky! To be a happy one I'd like to leave an afterglow Of smiles when life is done Keepsakes of the Heart I'd like to leave an echo A collection of your memories, Whispering softly down the ways Precious times enjoyed together; Of happy times and laughing times Keepsakes of the heart And bright and sunny days That remain with us forever. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, To dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave A Little While When life is done Fill not your heart with pain and sorrow, But remember me in every tomorrow ... Goodbye Is Not Forever Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I've only gone to rest a little while. When you lived your life for others Although my leaving causes pain and grief and you loved without condition My going has eased my hurt When you made so many laugh And given me relief. and your smile won't be forgotten So dry your eyes and remember me, When you left behind an empty place Not as I am now, but as I used to be. that no one else can fill Because I will remember you all When the friendships that you shared And look on with a smile. long to be renewed Understand in your hearts When you built your life on hope I've only gone to rest a little while. and fulfilled it every day The footprints that you left behind will bring us face to face Beautiful Spirit So, goodbye is not forever, A beautiful spirit endures You're only steps away. Through many transformations And carries with it a patient endurance A perseverance of the soul That stands the test of time The colors of our lives do not fade But grow brighter with every changing season 2 Christian Poems Another Leaf Has Fallen God Hath Not Promised Another leaf has fallen, God hath not promised another soul has gone. Skies always blue. But still we have God's promises, Flowers strewn pathways in every robin's song. All our lives through; For He's in His Heaven, God hath not promised and though He takes away. Sun without rain, He always leaves to mortals, Joy without sorrow, the bright sun's kindly ray. Peace without pain. He leaves the fragrant blossoms, But God hath promised and lovely forests green. Strength for the day, And gives us new found comfort, Rest for the labor, when we on Him will lean. Light for the way. Grace for the trials help from above, God Has Created Me Unfailing sympathy God has created me to do him some definite service. Undying love. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. If Death Should Beckon I have my mission - I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. If Death should beckon me I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection, between persons. with outstretched hand He has not created me for naught. and whisper softly I shall do his work, I shall be an angel of peace, of"An Unknown Land"; a preacher of truth in my own pace while not intending it - I shall not be afraid to go. IfI do but keep His Commandments. For though the path I do not know, Therefore I will trust him. I will take Death's Hand without fear, Whatever, wherever I am, I can never be thrown away. for He who safely brought me here If I am in siclmess, my sickness may serve Him; will also take me safely back in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him; And though in many things I lack, ifl am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. He will not let me go alone He does nothing in vain. into the "Valley 'lhat's Unknown" ... HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS ABOUT. So I reach out and take Death's Hand He may take away my friends. and journey to the "Promised Land". He may throw me among strangers. He may make me feel desolate, make my spirits sink, hide my future from me - STILL HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS ABOUT. -Henry Cardinal Newman 3 God's Garden Togetherness God looked around the garden, Death is nothing at all And found an empty space. I have only slipped away He looked down upon the earth, Into the next room. And saw your tired face. Whatever we were to each other, He put His arms around you That we are still. And lifted you to rest. Call me by my old familiar name, God's garden must be beautiful Speak to me in the way For He only takes the best. which you always used to. He knew that you were weary, Laugh as we always laughed together. and He knew you were in pain. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. He knew that you would never Let my name be the household word be well on earth again. That it always was. He saw the roads were getting rough, Let it be spoken without effort. and the hills were hard to climb. Life means all that it ever was: So He closed your weary eyelids, There is absolutely unbroken continuity. and whispered peace be thine. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? • Lesson 12: Eternity 1 Eternity • with All of God's Enemies Defeated
Lesson 12: Eternity 1 Eternity With all of God’s enemies defeated, including death, eternity is ushered in and the kingdom delivered to God the Father. o “Then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when He abolishes all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign until He puts all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy to be abolished is death. For God has put everything under His feet. But when it says ‘everything’ is put under Him, it is obvious that He who puts everything under Him is the exception. And when everything is subject to Christ, then the Son Himself will also be subject to the One who subjected everything to Him, so that God may be all in all.” (1 Corinthians 15:24-28) o There are several important concepts to note. Jesus is completely equal to the Father as part of the Triune God. “Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage. Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as a man in His external form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death—even to death on a cross. For this reason God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow—of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth—and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:5-11) Lesson 12: Eternity 2 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…The Word became flesh and took up residence among us.

  • 2018 APOSTOLIC PRAISE CHORUSBOOK Richard W. Smith
2018 APOSTOLIC PRAISE CHORUSBOOK The 2018 Apostolic Praise© Chorusbook combines a unique compilation of 130 choruses, written chiefly for those who have gone through the Apostolic Praise© series who wish to enlarge their repertoire of songs. It contains a wide variety of songs, from old standards such as “Wonderful Peace” to Gospel choruses such as “Saved” “Power” and “Breakthrough” to more contemporary songs such as “Jesus Messiah.” However, what makes this chorusbook different is the fact that the songs are not written with just the basic, easy, boring chords, as most lead sheets are. Instead, the songs have been totally rewritten with advanced, fullsounding chords, giving the musician that plays them a very professional sound. When the musician plays “O I Want To See Him” the Apostolic Praise© way, it won’t be with just the simple IIVV chords. Instead, it is going to have a variety of complex, beautifulsounding chords that will make the song sound more modern. Also included are some resources on how to transpose songs to different keys, as well as an explanation page for some of the unique symbols that this chorusbook uses. Richard W. One day an evangelist comes to your church and you have to play “Amazing Grace” for his wife, who is going to sing a solo that night. Unfortunately, she wants you to play it in the key of Ab and your church always sings it in F.

This led them to an absorption with the Jewish creation myths in Genesis, which they obsessively reinterpreted to formulate allegorical explanations of how humans ended up trapped in the world of matter. The basic Gnostic story, which varied in details from teacher to teacher, was this: In the beginning there was an unknowable, immaterial, and invisible God, sometimes called the Father of All and sometimes by other names. “He” was neither male nor female, and was composed of an implicitly finite amount of a living nonphysical substance. Surrounding this God was a great empty region called the Pleroma (the fullness). Beyond the Pleroma lay empty space. The God acted to fill the Pleroma through a series of emanations, a squeezing off of small portions of his/its nonphysical energetic divine material. In most accounts there are thirty emanations in fifteen complementary pairs, each getting slightly less of the divine material and therefore being slightly weaker. The emanations are called Aeons (eternities) and are mostly named personifications in Greek of abstract ideas.
