HARVEST OFFERING

As I was thinking about the Family (Harvest) Service on 2nd October, it seemed it would be good to make a donation, as a harvest offering, towards alleviating the dreadful drought and famine situation in E. Africa, so if you would like to donate for that purpose, the church will send it off. Rev Will Lane has a friend who is of N. Kenya and it would be possible to channel the money through him. We have done this before and can vouch for the money reaching the desired destination.

As the Harvest season covers a couple of weeks this year, we can keep the giving period open a bit longer, so if you wish to, you may donate for this cause until Sunday 9th October.

CALLING ALL GARDENERS Would you be willing to look after and maintain some of the flower beds in the Rectory garden until we get a new Tennant? The policy of the Diocese is to get a Tenant for the Rectory (or Vicarage) during a Vacancy, and so we are hoping that it will not remain empty for long. However, it would be very helpful if one or more people from any of the Parishes, would be willing to maintain the flower beds until we get a new temporary Tennant. Please contact Alan McKechnie (01278 – 685 105) if you are able and willing to offer any help. Thanks – Benefice Churchwardens
