Oriental Mindoro Death Statistics (Preliminary) January to March 2021

Explanatory Note

Data on deaths presented in this special release were obtained from the timely and late registered deaths at the Office of the City/Municipal Civil Registrars throughout the province and submitted to the Office of the Civil Registrar-General through the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) for encoding. Information presented includes the deaths the occurred from January until June 2021 (cut-off date is as of July 16, 2021 on the submission of encoded data files to the PSA-Central Office from PSOs). Figures presented herein are still preliminary and may differ from the final counts. Deaths of Filipinos abroad are not yet included in the data, only those who died in the country but whose usual residence is abroad.

More deaths registered in in the months of January to March 2021 than in the same period in 2020

The preliminary number of registered deaths from January to March 2021 in the province of Oriental Mindoro reached a total of 1,438, higher by 6.8 percent than the number of registered deaths of 1,347 in the same period of 2020.

Except in January 2021, the months of February and March posted and March year-on-year increases in the number of registered deaths – January with a decrease of 19 (-3.9%), February with an increase of 36 (8.0%) and March with 74 (18.0) increase.

12 of 15 city/municipalities in Oriental Mindoro had more registered deaths in the First Quarter of 2021 than in the same period in 2020

The municipalities of , San Teodoro, and Socorro recorded negative movement of registered death in the 1st Quarter of 2021, the rest of the municipalities and Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro showed increases in the number of registered deaths year-on-year in the 1st Quarter of 2021.

Bansud reported the lowest decrease of registered deaths in the First Quarter of 2021 with 17.

The highest increase in number of deaths registered was with 20 followed by Pola with an increase of 19, and Bulalacao and with an increase of 18 each.
