Saturday’s game marks the third game of a grueling stretch of five matches in 16 days. While the club still has work to do in solidifying itself among the top sides in USL, Ottawa has won all three of its fixtures in the Canadian Championship and have just one loss in their last nine contests in all competition (5W-3D-1L). Perhaps it was their come-from-behind win last Saturday in New York that helped fuel their confidence for their comeback win over Toronto FC Tuesday night. Either way, the offense is clicking for Paul Dalglish’s side that has scored six goals in their last two games and nine in their last four. Ryan Williams – with two penalty kicks – and Sito Seoane have scored in back-to-back games for Ottawa, while Michael Salazar was named to USL Team of the Week - thanks to his performance in the 4-3 win against the New York Red Bulls II where he scored his first goal in Fury colours and added an assist. Saturday’s opponent, the Richmond Kickers, was Ottawa’s opposition in their first-ever USL victory on April 15th. The Kickers have proven a sound defensive side owning the second best defensive record in the Eastern Conference and with just one loss in their last five contests, Fury FC will need to continue to flex their offensive muscles if they hope to claim their first home win of the season in USL action. Fury FC will once again be facing a few familiar faces against Richmond, as former Fury FC members Marcel DeBellis (GK), Mallan Roberts (D) and Oliver Minatel (F) are now playing for the Kickers. A third straight win would not only aid in Ottawa’s USL ambitions, but continue to fuel the team’s confidence heading into its second leg match in Toronto on May 31 where Ottawa will be looking to advance to the Canadian Championship Final for the first time in club history. WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: Fury FC GM and Head Coach, Paul Dalglish: “We are in great form going forward at the moment and we need to keep doing all the things that have made us successful lately. Richmond are one of the better teams in our conference defensively so we need to be at our best offensively.
