Day 1

Meet Sunday at 5:30pm at the chalet for a presentation and safety briefing with your mountain guide or skiing instructor.

Off-pist skiing in the depends a lot on the weather and the snow conditions, especially considering the avalanche risk. This program can be changed during the week if the conditions demand it, for a matter of safety. The mountain guide or skiing instructor makes the final decision about every hike and gives a briefing with the group every evening to present the next day's program.

Walking times and elevations given here are approximate, the guide will adjust the pace and the length of the hikes depending on the group.

Day 2

SKI DE RANDONNÉE AU PIED DES TERRES MAUDITES Depuis la vallée de la Manche, une première journée en ski de randonnée jusqu'à la frontière franco-suisse. Le parcours est facile, à la montée comme à la descente, dans un environnement sauvage à deux pas de et des pistes de ski. Forêts, larges alpages, chalets...et chamois et bouquetins qui nous observent depuis les hauteurs du Vannet. 4h à 6h00 de randonnée / Dénivelé : +/- 400m +/- 750m de dénivelé pour le col de Coux

Day 3

GRAND PARADIS ET Après un démarrage sur les pistes très fréquentées d', le circuit passe la frontière et bascule dans un autre univers. Changement d'ambiance radicale, les pistes donnent l'impression d'être privatisées pour votre groupe, peu de remontées mécaniques sur les larges versants ouverts sur la vallée du Rhône et les Dents du Midi. Du ski de piste qui laisse le temps de s'imprégner de la glisse dans un espace grandiose !

Day 4

LE COL RATI Départ du col de l’Encrenaz dans le massif protégé du Roc d’Enfer pour une montée tranquille au col de La Basse puis au col Rati (1923 m) avec une large vue sur l’ensemble du massif du Mont-Blanc. Et probablement des chamois au rendez-vous…Retour au chalet en début d'après-midi pour profiter d'une balade en station, Morzine et son ambiance de village traditionnel ou bien Avoriaz, station intégrée, labellisée "Grande réalisation du 20ème siècle". Les fauteuils confortables au coin de la cheminée peuvent offrir une autre alternative pour un après-midi cocooning et lecture ! 4h00 / Dénivelé : +/- 490 m

Day 5

SKI ENTRE LÉMAN ET MONT-BLANC Retour sur les pistes pour cette journée. L'itinéraire se faufile dans les combes de Châtel afin de rejoindre le secteur le plus au nord du domaine des Portes du Soleil. À cheval sur la frontière, entre La Chapelle d'Abondance, Torgon et Super Châtel, les spatules viennent dominer le Lac Léman alors que la vue porte du massif du jusqu'aux Grands Combins. Un autre itinéraire pour découvrir la face secrète du grand ski des Portes du Soleil !

Day 6 TETE DE BOSTAN ou POINTE DE CHALUNE Départ pour la randonnée choisie selon le niveau du groupe et les conditions du moment. Le Chablais offre de nombreux sommets sauvages, avec un vaste choix de pentes à skier en toute liberté. Là encore, l'expérience du guide et sa connaissance du massif sont le gage d'un choix optimum. 5h / Dénivelé : +/- 1000m à +/-1300m

LEVEL

A certain level of skiing is required: You need to be confident and in complete control of speed and turns on a black piste. No off-piste ski or ski touring experience required. Ski tours with an elevation of +/- 500-900m approximately per day depending on the snow and weather conditions and the level of the group.

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE

The safety of a skier in the mountains. For beginners or to perfect ski techniques in all snow conditions. Safety equipment training (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe, airbag, etc.). Learning about and how to assess for avalanche risks. But also to have fun... in beautiful snowy off-piste backcountry conditions!

ACCOMMODATION

In a comfortable gîte: 6 nights in rooms for 2 people (or possibly 3 people for individuals).

Our cottage is an old restored farmhouse. Nathalie, our host, gives us the best welcome and the gourmet pleasures of a tasty table, with varied menus and the essential Savoyard specialties ... The cottage has 6 bedrooms for 2 and 3 people, with 3 bathrooms and 3 separate toilets to share. The kitchen is open to a main living room with a fireplace area and a small bar. Two other small lounges are available upstairs.

The lodging is located in the village of Prodains, at the end of the Ardoisières valley, 5 minutes from Avoriaz by cable car and 10 minutes by bus from Morzine (every 15 minutes and free).

In Morzine and Avoriaz you can find all the shops of a nice village resort, as well as traditional and cultural activities: retrospective of skiing and torchlight descent, visit to the slate quarries, the fruit farm where tomme, reblochon and abundance, indoor swimming pool and Olympic ice rink. Not to mention the nightlife: wine bars, pubs ...

MEALS

Breakfast and dinner are provided at the gite. Picnics are included, comprising a warm hearty soup and a variety of local products.

ACCESS TO DEPARTURE POINT

Meet Sunday at 5:30pm at the gite La Jolie Bergère at the Prodains. Reception at the gîte from 3.30 p.m.

BY TRAIN

Inbound: depart Gare de Lyon (Paris) at 9:11am arrive in Thonon at 1:33pm. Then bus, depart Thonon at 1:40pm, arrive in Morzine at 2:25pm.

Night train: depart Gare de Lyon (Paris) at 11:12pm arrive in Cluses at 08:20am. Then bus to Cluses at 8:40am, arrive in Morzine at 9:30 (or Cluses 12:40pm > Morzine 1:30pm).

10 min. walk left (or free bus) to get to the hotel.

Return: depart Morzine by bus at 4:25pm arrive in Cluses at 5:15pm. Depart Cluses at 5:22pm arrive Gare de Lyon (Paris) at 11:00pm.
