2000 David Nash We have managed to maintain an excellent 2001 Bobbie Salotti Monday night social time thus ensuring we retain our focus on offering the opportunity for 2002 Jeff Green people to play badminton at all levels. 2003 Sandy Faithfull In 1995 we recommenced a junior program initially offering training for young people on 2006 Sally Brauer Sunday mornings. That has been further enhanced by the introduction of junior league giving our young people an opportunity to experience competition in a team environment. 2007 Jane Awwad We currently have 5 teams in the junior league competition. The assistance from Anita 2007 Carol Packard Wong, Andrew Combe, Neil Grant, John Ly, Jane Awwad and Gianni Monti in managing the teams is certainly most appreciated. Thank you also to Claudio, Jane, Jeff, Mingmei 2007 Malcolm Wainwright and Daniel for their dedication to Sunday morning coaching. 2007 Jamie Deans In 2000 we relocated here to Lockleys after 35 years at Holdfast YMCA. In the end I think the committee’s concerns about the move were unfounded and the club has continued to go from strength to strength. As part of the relocation we set about creating our own club Presidents of Glenelg Badminton Club room area and despite a lot of doubters particularly outside the club we have managed to Glenelg has had only 5 Presidents in 44 years create an outstanding addition to the facility. This is an area which is appreciated by all Fergie Kerr 1968—1973 users of the venue. The project would not have been possible without significant assis- tance from Waternish Constructions, Office of Recreation and Sport, City of West Tor- Roy Bierton 1974 rens, Davis and Brooks and the voluntary hours by some members.

Ted Gentle 1975—1979 Along the way we have had various events to celebrate our journey all of which have Glen McPherson 1980—1987 been excellent and fitting occasions. The last of which was the opening ceremony in April this year which was a very appropriate celebration of the lasting legacy we have created. Robert Riggs 1988—Present I remain extremely proud of our club in what we have achieved and continue to achieve. We deserve hearty congratulations on our accomplishments with particular regard for the This stable leadership has been one of the main building project. Rest assured you belong to a strong and progressive club and may I ingredients for the club’s success over the years remind you that a club is truly a reflection of its members.

Helena is 10 weeks old in the photo. She was born on the 29th July (a week and a half early) and weighed 2.9kg/6.7pounds and born a natural, 9 hour labour.

Cheeks are rosy – especially when she cries –and boy has she mas- tered that skill! But despite the mid evening wake up feeds, Chris and I are enjoying every moment of this huge learning curve and we can’t imagine life without her.

As for me – I’m hoping to see you all again –ok give me a little time – but I’m looking forward to getting on the courts again and seeing my friendly Monday night badminton bunch again soon.
