Aaron Douglas Aaron Douglas is best known for his portrayal of Chief Galen Tyrol on Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica. Before joining the Battlestar cast, Aaron had roles on many films and TV shows including X-Men 2, iRobot, Stargate SG-1, Andromeda, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Outer Limits and many, many more. Since Battlestar Galactica, we have found Aaron in his own show, The Bridge, and as the evil Bill Marsh on Hellcats. Aaron guest starred in an episode of Eu- reka, an episode of CBS’ Flashpoint, and in a couple of Syfy creature features, Ghost Storm and Killer Mountain, where Aaron is teamed, for the first time since Battlestar, with his good friend and former cast mate Paul Campbell. Most recently, Aaron played Sheriff Tom Sworn in Hemlock Grove and Evan Henderson in the Killing. Aaron does a lot of work for charities, and the majority of his efforts go to the Canadian Cancer Foundation and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Kate Elliott Kate Elliott has been writing stories since she was nine years old, which has led her to believe that writing, like breathing, keeps her alive. As a child in rural Oregon, she made up stories because she longed to escape to a world of lurid adventure fiction. She now writes fantasy, steampunk, science fiction, and YA, including recent works Black Wolves, Court of Fives, and Cold Magic. It should come as no surprise that she met her future husband in a sword fight. When he gave up police work to study archaeology, they and their three children fell into an entirely new set of adventures amid dusty Mexican ruins and mouthwatering European pastry shops. Eventu- ally her spouse’s work brought them to Hawai‘i, where she took up outrigger canoe paddling. With the three children out of the house, they now spoil the schnauzer. Frakes also hosted the television series Be- 33 yond Belief: Fact or Fiction, challenging viewers to discern his stories of fact-based phenomena and fabricated tales. In June 2011, Frakes narrated the History Channel documentary Lee and Grant. He is also the author of a book called The Abductors: Conspiracy. Amy Hoff Amy Hoff spent years travelling across the United States, living out of cars and cheap motels. She was a weightlifter and streetfighter, collecting monster legends across the country. • Nana Visitor/Chase Masterson Interviews JARRAH
Episode 14: Nana Visitor/Chase Masterson Interviews JARRAH: Hi and welcome to Women At Warp. Join us as our crew of four women Star Trek fans boldly go on our biweekly mission to explore our favorite franchise. My name's Jarrah and thanks for tuning in. Today we have with us the rest of our crew. Sue SUE: Hi everybody JARRAH: Andi. ANDI: Hey everyone. JARRAH: And Grace. GRACE: Hey y'all. JARRAH: And before we get started into the main bulk of our show, which is interviews that I did at Star Trek Las Vegas with Chase Masterson and Nana Visitor from Deep Space Nine, we wanted to take a minute to pay tribute to a awesome Star Trek guest star that passed away recently: Yvonne Craig. So Andi, do you want to start with that? ANDI: Sure. I mean, I know a lot of people know her from Batgirl. I sadly never got to see her as Batgirl and wasn't really familiar with her from that. So my first experience with her as an actress was from Whom Gods Destroy, which is a third season Star Trek the original series episode. And I think it's a really cool episode. And the main reason I like it is because of her character Marta, who is awesome, and funny, and dangerous, and just really really cool. I mean she dances, and she stabs Kirk, and she quotes Shakespeare but pretends she wrote it. I mean how do you get such a cool character all in one place like that? It was really awesome and that's one of my favorite characters they ever did.

I’m sure you have already discovered, as I have, that this event is truly a unique amalgamation of all the things that made Star Trek a phenomenon. My own small contribution to this legendary story has continued to be a source of great pride to me during my career, and although I have been fortunate enough to have many other projects to satisfy the artist in me, I have nevertheless always felt a deep and visceral connection to the show. But there are reasons why this never- ending story has endured. I have always believed that this special connection to Star Trek we all enjoy comes from the positive picture the stories consistently envision.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA AND PHILOSOPHY The Blackwell Philosophy and PopCulture Series Series editor William Irwin A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, and a healthy help- ing of popular culture clears the cobwebs from Kant. Philosophy has had a public relations problem for a few centuries now. This series aims to change that, showing that philosophy is relevant to your life—and not just for answering the big questions like “To be or not to be?” but for answering the little questions: “To watch or not to watch South Park?” Thinking deeply about TV, movies, and music doesn’t make you a “complete idiot.” In fact it might make you a philosopher, someone who believes the unexamined life is not worth living and the unexamined cartoon is not worth watching. • Pressive and Photographs So Beautifully, He Is Extremely Strong in This Role,” Comments Masterson
“YESTERDAY WAS A LIE” PRODUCTION INFORMATION A groundbreaking new noir film, YESTERDAY WAS A LIE is a “soulful and thought- provoking metaphysical journey” (Talking Pictures). Award-winning writer/director James Kerwin -- “one of these young guys on the edge of a digital revolution” (Soundwaves Cinema) -- crafts a thrilling, intricate detective drama that teases the boundaries of reality. Kipleigh Brown “exudes Bacall” (Slice of SciFi) as Hoyle, a girl with a sharp mind and a weak- ness for bourbon who finds herself on the trail of a reclusive genius (John Newton). But her work takes a series of unforeseen twists as events around her grow increasingly fragmented... discon- nected... surreal. With a sexy lounge singer (Chase Masterson) and a loyal partner (Mik Scriba) as her only allies, Hoyle is plunged into a dark world of intrigue and earth-shattering cosmological secrets. Haunted by an ever-present shadow (Peter Mayhew) whom she is destined to face, Hoyle discovers that the most powerful force in the universe -- the power to bend reality, the power to know the truth -- lies within the depths of the human heart. “Like Blade Runner before it, YESTERDAY WAS A LIE manages to meld film noir and science fiction into a fresh new world unlike anything we’ve seen be- fore” (iF Magazine). Also starring Nathan Mobley, Warren Davis, Megan Henning, Jennifer Slimko, and famed ra- dio personality Robert Siegel. 2 ABOUT THE PRODUCTION YESTERDAY WAS A LIE is the brainchild of writer/director James Kerwin, who made a splash in 2000 with his multi-festival-award-winning short film Midsummer.
