(VESTAL, NY) — Dick’s Sporting Goods Open is proud to announce that Grammy Award Winning Band Train will perform after the 1st Round, as part of Dick’s Sporting Goods Open Week. The concert will take place on the stage adjacent to the 18th green Friday August 17th. “We are very excited to secure a band like Train, who co-toured last year with Maroon 5, the band that performed at the 2011 Dick’s Sporting Goods Open.”, said Tournament Director John Karedes.

Train, formed in 1994, released their first in 1998 with their single becoming an instant hit. Their second album, , won two Grammys in 2002. The San Francisco-based band has received eight nominations and won three Grammy Awards. Drive By is the first single released from their new album, California 37. The album will be released April 17th.

“The Dick’s Sporting Goods Open will be one of the stops on the San Francisco 2012 Tour, which kicks off on April 10th in California and will work its way east to us on August 17th” , said tournament Marketing and Promotions Manager Dave Pessagno. “What will be great is that our date will be part of their world-wide tour. It will be exciting to see Endicott, NY on the tee shirt after all our community has been through.”

“Maroon 5 put the word out after their 2011show that this is an incredible venue. They were impressed with the huge crowd that came out and they made sure their management knew that this was an event that can support a big-time act. We are also very fortunate to have a Title Sponsor like Dick’s Sporting Goods that cares so much about our community. Their commitment makes it possible to bring such quality entertainment for our customers, sponsors, fans and players.”, said Karedes. “We look forward to our 3rd consecutive concert sell-out!”

Concert tickets will go on-sale Saturday March 17th at noon via the Broome County Arena Box Office, ticketmaster.com and Dick’s Sporting Goods. The $30 ticket will allow the holder to enjoy the 1st Round of golf in addition to the evening concert.

The event, traditionally contested in June, will be played in August this year to allow the En- Joie Golf Course more time to recover from the devastating floods that affected our region last September.

The 2012 Dick’s Sporting Goods Open will be hosted at the En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott, NY August 13th – 19th. For more information call the Tournament Office at (607) 205-1500.
