Quality Building Award (QBA) 2010 winners unveiled!

(11 June 2010 ‐ ) Grand Award Winners, Merit Winners and Finalists of Quality Building Award (“QBA”) 2010 were announced at the QBA2010 Award Presentation Banquet held tonight.

The event took place at Conrad Hong Kong earlier this evening, special guests and VIPs presence included: Mr. Thomas CHOW Tat‐ming, JP, Permanent Secretary for Development (Planning & Lands); Mr. AU Choi Kai, JP, Director of Buildings and Chairman of QBA2010 Jury Panel; the Hon. Patrick LAU Sau‐shing, SBS, JP, Legislative Council Member (Architectural, Surveying and Planning Functional Constituency).

After 18 months of planning, vigorous assessments and judging processes, the following “Quality” projects were selected as QBA2010 Grand Award Winners, Merit Winners and Finalists:

Under the theme of “Quality Transcends Time”, QBA2010 had undergone some key transformations. Firstly, in the “Project Outside Hong Kong” category, Grand Award is awarded this year in order to give recognition to our local professionals who had devoted their hard work and expertise outside Hong Kong. Secondly, in the Finalist Presentation to Jury Panel, participating teams, the professionals and the public were all given access to the presentation, enhancing the transparency and sharing opportunities during the adjudication.

Note to Editor Quality Building Award (QBA) was Founded in 2001 by seven building and construction related associations in Hong Kong. It is a biennial award giving public recognition to buildings of outstanding quality that have demonstrated excellent teamwork. The provision of quality building is an essential ingredient of a prosperous and modern society, and thus the Quality Building Award aims to promote a collective commitment by the building industry to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and competitiveness.
