THIS WEEK After a pair of close losses threatened the postseason, Temple recovered over the bye week en route - With a win over Cincinnati on Friday, Temple’s senior to a 34-26 signature victory over Navy, sinking the Midshipmen in front of a Thursday night national class will earn their 31st overall victory and vault them into a tie for winningest class in school history. audience. Next up, the Owls prep for a road trip to Cincinnati to face their division rival Bearcats, with the game set to kickoff Friday night at 7:00 p.m. EST and air nationally on ESPN2. - In Temple’s last two November campaigns, the Owls have compiled a strong 7-1 mark, with the lone loss coming at South Florida in 2015. This past Thursday, Temple (4-5, 2-3 American) put on an offensive and defensive clinic as the team dominated Navy in nearly every aspect of the game, earning the 34-26 victory to improve to within - Both Temple safeties Sean Chandler and Delvon two wins of being bowl eligible for the fourth straight season. Senior QB Frank Nutile, making just his Randall enter the game with 8 career interceptions, tied for 11th on the school’s all-time list. Their 9th INT second overall start, tossed a career-high four touchdown passes on 22-of-30 passing for 289 yards, will move them into a tie for 8th in the TU record connecting with fellow seniors WR Adonis Jennings (five catches for 127 yards & two TDs) and Keith books. Kirkwood (career-best seven receptions for 87 yards and & one score). - Temple currently leads the country in blocked kicks since Ed Foley took over the unit in 2015. The Owls Meanwhile, the well-rested Temple defense held Navy’s triple-option - the nation’s top-ranked rushing have 13 blocked kicks over that span and 18 over the attack - to a season-low 136 rushing yards, 240 yards below their previous average. Further, the Owls last four seasons. snuffed out the Midshipmen’s 69-game streak of at least one rushing touchdown, forcing the offense - With his four receptions against Army, wide receiver into uncomfortable passing situations throughout the game. Concordantly, junior S Delvon Randall Ventell Bryant jumped up into 9th all-time in recep- grabbed his fourth pick of the season late in the second half, once again vaulting him into a tie with tions (113). Further, his 29 receiving yards versus the fellow safety Sean Chandler on the all-time interception list at 11th overall. Black Knights helped Bryant climb into 9th in that category as well (1,659), and now has just one more catch and 34 yards to go in order to jump into 8th. Looking ahead to Cincinnati (3-6, 1-4 American), the Owls aim to pick up their first back-to-back confer- ence wins of the season on the road under the Friday night lights. The victory over Navy helped reorient Temple and restore confidence on both sides of the ball, especially as multiple players returned from GAMEDAY CENTRAL injuries throughout the roster. The complete performance from Nutile, combined with a harassing de- fensive showing that included 11 tackles-for-loss and five sacks, looked the part of a postseason team. • 2020 Buffalo Fanatics Draft Prospectus
2020 Buffalo Fanatics Draft Prospectus Director of College Scouting Steve Mathes _ @JudgeMathes Positional Outlook Quarterback Buffalo is not going to look to rock the boat by bringing in a legitimate threat to Josh Allen’s job, they believe in him as the franchise QB. Players Met With or “Linked-To” Likewise, they don’t appear to be looking to challenge Matt Barkley as a James Morgan - Florida International back-up either. He has a great relationship with Allen, isn’t threatening his job, and brings traits Allen doesn’t have like anticipatory throwing they hope will rub off on him. That leaves Davis Webb, the practice squad QB, as the only one at real risk of competition. The Bills met with Morgan, but this was before his stock significantly heated up. If the Bills decide to challenge Webb look for a UDFA QB to be the guy to do it. Running Back The Buffalo Bills have only two viable runners on their roster currently in Devin Singletary and TJ Yeldon. They will look to add a third to this tandem to replace Players Met With or “Linked-To” the departed Frank Gore. Cam Akers - Florida St. Gore was known as the “bruiser”. When he was on the field defenses tended to JK Dobbins - Ohio St. know what was coming. It appears from their list of potential targets the Bills Clyde Edwards-Hellaire - LSU are looking to buck that trend. Darrynton Evans - Appalachian St. Zack Moss - Utah On their list are mostly “All-Purpose Backs” and one guy who is all traits (SPEED) D’Andre Swift - Georgia in Darrynton Evans.
