The London Borough of Lewisham (Electoral Changes) Order 2020
Draft Order laid before Parliament under section 59(9) of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009; draft to lie for forty days pursuant to section 6(1) of the Statutory Instruments Act 1946, during which period either House of Parliament may resolve that the Order be not made. DRAFT STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS 2020 No. 0000 LOCAL GOVERNMENT, ENGLAND The London Borough of Lewisham (Electoral Changes) Order 2020 Made - - - - Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2) and (3) Under section 58(4) of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009( a) (“the Act”) the Local Government Boundary Commission for England( b) (“the Commission”) published a report dated June 2020 stating its recommendations for changes to the electoral arrangements for the London Borough of Lewisham. The Commission has decided to give effect to the recommendations. A draft of the instrument has been laid before Parliament and a period of forty days has expired since the day on which it was laid and neither House has resolved that the instrument be not made. The Commission makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 59(1) of the Act. Citation and commencement 1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the London Borough of Lewisham (Electoral Changes) Order 2020. (2) This article and article 2 come into force on the day after the day on which this Order is made. (3) Article 3 comes into force— (a) for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on the day after the day on which this Order is made; (b) for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in England(c) in 2022. -

Outline the aims/objectives/scope of this piece of work Introduction AECOM was commissioned by Transport for London (TfL) to undertake an Equality Impact Assessment (EqIA) for the Bakerloo Line Extension scheme, hereafter referred to as the ‘proposed scheme’. An EqIA is an assessment of the potential impacts of a proposed scheme on particular communities or Protected Characteristic Groups (PCGs) and supports TfL’s Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) requirement. This EqIA is one of nine which study the preferred station, and ventilation shaft locations along the Bakerloo line Extension (Figure 1) as well as the alternative worksite options considered. These EqIAs work within the Mayor’s Transport Strategy, encouraging the Healthy Street Approach to prioritise human health and experience in planning the city, and changing London’s transport mix to work better for everyone.1 This is an outline EqIA (hereafter referred to as EqIA), which introduces the type of impacts which may be experienced at each station or work site. -

The data and literature review were part of the ‘Londoner Pole Citizen. National identity as a tool to stimulate civic participation of the Polish youth living abroad’ action research project, carried out by the partnership led by the Centre of Migration Research Foundation, Poland, and including Centre for Community Engagement Research, Goldsmiths College, University of London (CCER); Lewisham Borough Council (Young Mayor Office); and Lewisham Polish Centre (LPC). The aim of the desk research behind this paper was to delineate a wider context in which the project was embedded which helped us to develop our research design, and also facilitated explanation with the aid of available analytical concepts. We included the state-of- the-art analysis on the topics such as migration, ethnicity, integration, diversity and civic participation in the UK. A special focus was on youth and the situation of young Poles in the borough. The idea was to depict the general trends and see the uniqueness of the studied locality against this background. -
