INFORMATION TO USERS This reproduction was made from a copy of a document sent to us for microfilming. While the most advanced technology has been used to photograph and reproduce this document, the quality of the reproduction is heavily dependent upon the quality of the material submitted. The following explanation of techniques is provided to help clarify markings or notations which may appear on this reproduction. 1. The sign or "target" for pages apparently lacking from the document photographed is "Missing Page(s)". If it was possible to obtain the missing page(s) or section, they are spliced into the film along with adjacent pages. This may have necessitated cutting through an image and duplicating adjacent pages to assure complete continuity. 2. When an image on the film is obliterated with a round black mark, it is an indication of either blurred copy because of movement during exposure, duplicate copy, or copyrighted materials that should not have been filmed. For blurred pages, a good image of the page can be found in the adjacent frame. If copyrighted materials were deleted, a target note will appear listing the pages in the adjacent frame. 3. When a map, drawing or chart, etc., is part of the material being photographed, a definite method of "sectioning" the material has been followed. It is customary to begin filming at the upper left hand corner of a large sheet and to continue from left to right in equal sections with small overlaps. If necessary, sectioning is continued again—beginning below the first row and continuing on until complete.

  • Bill Walsh Nfl Diversity Coaching Fellowship Attracts Record 137 Training Camp Participants
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 9/30/16 http://twitter.com/NFL345 BILL WALSH NFL DIVERSITY COACHING FELLOWSHIP ATTRACTS RECORD 137 TRAINING CAMP PARTICIPANTS - PROGRAM INCLUDES 69 FORMER NFL PLAYERS - A record 137 minority coaches took part in this year’s BILL WALSH NFL DIVERSITY COACHING FELLOWSHIP, the NFL announced today. Established in 1987, the program provides NFL coaching experience to a diverse group of coaches every year. The program, which was named after the man who conceived the idea – late Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach BILL WALSH – exposes talented minority college coaches, high school coaches, and former players to the methods and philosophies of NFL coaching staffs. Walsh introduced the concept to the league in 1987 when he brought a group of minority coaches into his San Francisco 49ers’ training camp. The program has tutored more than 1,800 minority coaches through the years and has grown to the point that now every NFL team participates during offseason workout programs, minicamps and training camp. In 2016, the program included its second female participant, KATIE SOWERS, who was one of seven coaching interns hired by the Atlanta Falcons for training camp. Carolina Panthers head coach RON RIVERA knows the value of the program and serves on the Bill Walsh NFL Diversity Coaching Fellowship Advisory Council. The council is comprised of club presidents, general managers, head coaches and assistant coaches, who focus on developing a pipeline of minority coaches, including former NFL players pursuing opportunities in the coaching profession. “The Bill Walsh NFL Diversity Coaching Fellowship is essential in creating opportunities,” says Rivera.

  • Bill Walsh Nfl Minority Coaching Fellowship Attracts Record 134 Training Camp Participants
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 9/3/15 http://twitter.com/NFL345 BILL WALSH NFL MINORITY COACHING FELLOWSHIP ATTRACTS RECORD 134 TRAINING CAMP PARTICIPANTS - PROGRAM INCLUDES 47 FORMER NFL PLAYERS - A record 134 minority coaches took part in this summer’s BILL WALSH NFL MINORITY COACHING FELLOWSHIP, the NFL announced today. In 2015, the program included its first-ever female participant, DR. JEN WELTER, who was one of seven coaching interns hired by the Arizona Cardinals for training camp. Steelers head coach MIKE TOMLIN, who became the youngest head coach (36) in NFL history to win a Super Bowl when he led Pittsburgh to a victory in Super Bowl XLIII, is one of 61 full-time coaches on NFL staffs in 2015 who previously participated in the fellowship program. Tomlin interned with the Cleveland Browns in the summer of 2000 when he was the defensive backs coach at the University of Cincinnati. “I learned so much from being able to participate in the Bill Walsh NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship,” says Tomlin. “At the time, I was a young college coach, and I was given the opportunity to attend training camp and learn from NFL coaches. It was special. The fellowship gave me my first exposure to coaching in the NFL, and it solidified my dedication to wanting to become a coach in the National Football League.” Tomlin is one of three current NFL head coaches – MARVIN LEWIS (Cincinnati) and LOVIE SMITH (Tampa Bay) are the others – who are graduates of the program. Smith, who interned with the Arizona Cardinals in 1988, is a huge endorser of the program.
