In the football over 30 teams competed. With schools taking part in two 5-a-side competitions; one for girls and one for boys. Each team was led through a short warm up by the young sports leaders to ensure that the teams were ready to play and knew the rules of the game. When the matches began, the sports leaders acted as team managers and referees to ensure that all the children were included, had fun and fair play was at the heart of the competition. Unfortunately due to bad weather, the Bedford Academy football competition could not take place, so the football teams joined the sports hall athletics competitions.

Congratulations to Brickhill, Castle, Thurleigh and Sharnbrook John Gibbard Lower Schools for winning the year 3/4 girls football competitions. Carlton, Oakley, Queens Park and The Hills boys were all victorious in the boys competition.

62 teams competed in the sports hall athletics competitions, which involved the pupils rotating around eight different stations designed to develop their throwing, running and jumping skills. The activities included: an agility run, standing long jump, speed bounce and a vortex throw. Sports leaders demonstrated the correct technique for each station and provided coaching for the pupils to improve their technique and to score as many points as possible. After all the field activities took place, the equipment was cleared away, ready for the relay races to begin. These races, which included a sprint relay and a beanbag balancing race, offered the athletes the chance to work together as a team and to add more points towards their final scores. Congratulations to the following teams who collated the highest points totals at each of their respective competitions: Bromham, Christopher Reeves, Goldington Green, Springfield, St. John Rigby 2 and Wilstead.

Pupils were introduced to the game of scoreball and led through a short warm up and practice match by the sports leaders. Once they had all had a chance to learn the rules and develop their skills and tactics, the competitions began. Schools were split into an A and B team and played a number of matches against other schools. A total of 82 teams were involved in the competitions. The winners of the A team competitions were: Hazeldene, Kymbrook, Lakeview, Sharnbrook John Gibbard, Shortstown and St. John Rigby 2.
