MISTRESS OF CEREMONIES: Kellie DeMarco, KCRA 3 Anchor AUCTIONEER: Jake Parnell 3 Letter from the President Dear Friends of St. Francis Catholic High School, It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Eighth Annual Revelry Auction, Bella Notte in Rome, an evening to support and further the mission of St. Francis Catholic High School. The efforts of all those who have prepared for this evening contribute significantly to the stewardship of our young Troubadours. Our graduates embody the values and characteristics of our patron St. Francis of Assisi and our pillars of faith, excellence, leadership and service. This evening is the culmination of a year long effort by our hardworking Revelry Committee and the leadership of our magnificent chair, Celestine Syphax. Celes has poured incredible time, creativity and passion into this year’s event. You are witness to the transformation of the campus into an elegant evening in Rome; she has graced us immensely with not just her time, but her incredible talent and vision. We extend a very special thank you to our Revelry Sponsors, especially our Presenting Sponsors Sandra Geary Cook ’54 and John Cook (Cathleen ’79 and Laurie ’81), as well as Hanson McClain Advisors, Kathy and Pat McClain (Colleen ’15) for their continued commitment to the mission of St. Francis Catholic High School. We work diligently to ensure that we are providing a campus for these young women to thrive, be challenged and find a sense of community in their education and faith journey. The introduction of the iPad one-to-one program this year began with “Hands Up for Troubies” in 2011. This year we ask you to raise your paddle to “Outfit the New Dining Hall.” Construction will begin in early November with completion in summer 2014. The Dining Hall has been designed to provide a vibrant and energetic space for students gathering together as a community, breaking bread for nourishment, as well as social activities. On behalf of the young women who benefit from your generosity, I offer my sincere gratitude. You help provide them with the life-changing St. Francis experience, offering opportunities to know God, appreciate their unique gifts and talents, understand their responsibility in the world of service to others and develop the confidence to take on any challenge in the future. Enjoy an incredible evening transported to the Eternal City, created to touch the senses, experience and celebrate community and be inspired by the hope and knowledge that your support helps “St. Francis graduate young women who change the world!” In the Spirit of Pax et Bonum, Margo Reid Brown ’81 President Special thanks to the past Revelry Chairs: RANDY TERWEDO & SUE KANE (2006) TRACY BECKWITH (2011) MARY ANNE KELLY (2007, 2008) WENDY MILLER (2012) LINDSEY SACKHEIM & JULIE AL-HUNEIDI (2009, 2010) 4 Table of Contents Event starts promptly at 5:00PM • PLEASE ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME TO FULLY ENJOY THE NIGHT! As we gather this evening to celebrate the special community we share at St. Francis, I am deeply grateful for the many volunteers and sponsors that support and nurture our daughters in their journey of spiritual and academic growth through faith, service, and learning enrichment. As the Chair of Revelry 2013, I have come to realize that Revelry is much more than an event; it is an opportunity for us to model through participation--the same four pillars of Faith, Leaderhsip, Service, and Excellence that the young women at St. Francis learn during their four years. It is a testament to the Pax et Bonum spirit shared by both parents and students. Words alone cannot express my gratitude to all who have made this evening a success. I would like to give special thanks to our “Sistine Chapel” sponsors Hanson McClain Advisors (Kathy and Pat McClain) and Sandra and John Cook, who have so generously returned as our presenting sponsors for Revelry 2013. Sincerest thanks to all of our new sponsors and to the many returning sponsors who have continued their support over the years. For all of the volunteers who have spent countless hours and worked well beyond the minimum parent hour requirement, you have my heartfelt thanks! It has been a busy and wonderful time planning and working with everyone. Bella Notte in Rome is the success of many who have worked, donated, hosted, volunteered, and persevered to make this a magical evening! As we gather to enjoy a Bella Notte in Rome, we are supporting the future of our extraordinary daughters. When I reflect on how much our wonderful community has contributed to Revelry with gifts of time, talent and treasure, I am reminded of the words of St. Francis of Assisi “Remember that when you leave this earth you can take with you nothing that you have received - only what you have given.” Thank you for all that you give to our incredible school and for sharing your gifts in making this evening an overwhelming success! God bless you! Many thanks and blessings, Celestine Syphax 2013 Revelry Chair 6 Buon Appetito! Kuraly, who scored the overtime winner in Boston’s final outing of 2018 (Dec. 29 at BUF), became the first Bruins player to register a tiebreaking, winning goal in consecutive team games since Brad Marchand did so in three straight contests from March 3-8, 2018. Kuraly now has three game-winning goals in the regular season (122 GP) as well as one in the playoffs (16 GP) – that was scored in double-overtime of Game 5 in the 2017 First Round at OTT (2-0—2). Kuraly has recorded three goals in his past five outings after totaling one through his first 34 games of 2018-19. With the victory, the Bruins (22-14-4, 48 points) – who started the day on the outside of the playoff picture – leapfrogged the idle Sabres (21-13-6, 48 points) and Canadiens (21-14-5, 47 points) to move into third place in the Atlantic Division. Administration of Barack Obama, 2016 Commencement Address at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado June 2, 2016 Hello, Air Force! Thank you so much. Thank you. It is wonderful to be back at the United States Air Force Academy. Thank you, Secretary James, for your service to our Air Force and to our Nation. Governor Hickenlooper, Academy leaders, faculty and staff—especially your outstanding Superintendent, Lieutenant General Michelle Johnson. And most of all, congratulations to the class of 2016! As he prepares to conclude a remarkable 40-year career in the Air Force, a career that started on this day 40 years ago, please join me in saluting someone who many of you look up to and whose counsel I've relied on as well: Chief of Staff General Mark Welsh. Thank you, Mark. Thank you, Mark, and thank you, Betty. And although he's not here today, I am proud to have nominated another Academy graduate—and a combat-tested pilot—to serve as the 21st Air Force Chief of Staff, General David Goldfein. Now, cadets, you can take enormous pride in all the hard work that has brought you to this day. I also ask you to give a big round of applause to all your moms and dads, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles who supported you and sacrificed for you so you could be here today. Give them another round of applause. Now, I have to tell you, some days I spend more time with the Air Force than my own family—[laughter]—especially on Air Force One.

We are very proud of our world-class facilities and venues and are excited to share them with you. Thank you for taking the time to come out and support our incredibly talented cadet-athletes as they compete on the “fields of friendly strife”! USAFA competes as a Division I member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in 27 different sports. We also field two non-NCAA affiliated sports, boxing and cheerleading, which brings our total sports offered to 29. The majority of our teams compete in the Mountain West Conference, while others compete in conferences such as the Atlantic Hockey Association and the Mountain Pacific Sport Federation, to name a few. Regardless of which conference our teams are associated with, they all compete against numerous non-conference opponents, many that are nationally ranked, with special emphasis on our sister service academies. In addition to cheering on your Falcons, we encourage you to visit the Air Force Academy Gift Shop, located inside the Barry Goldwater Visitor Center, as well as the many friendly businesses that support Air Force athletics in the local community. The Visitor Center’s hours are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily, with the exception of Christmas and New Year’s Day. All profits from our Gift Shop directly support our cadet-athletes.
