    ETG vzw Erfgoed Tram en bus van Gent en Oost‐Vlaanderen Actua-47 Maatschappelijke zetel : Parkplein 22, 9000 Gent De tram in Zwijnaarde opnieuw terug van weg geweest Op zaterdag 6 november 2016 breidt De Lijn haar Gentse tramnet uit tot Zwijnaarde. Voor de jonge generaties lijkt het alsof er nu voor het eerst een tram naar Zwijnaarde gaat rijden. Niets is minder waar. Voor de tram is het een terugkeer naar Zwijnaarde, zelfs al voor de tweede keer ! Om dit te begrijpen zetten we even een flinke stap terug in onze vaderlandse mobiliteits‐geschiedenis. Zwijnaarde werd in de vorige eeuw al bediend door de tramlijn Gent ‐ Merelbeke ‐ Herzele ‐ Geraardsbergen van de NMVB. Die lijn kwam er in drie stappen. De NMVB, of voluit de ‘Nationale Maatschappij van Buurtspoorwegen’, werd in 1885 opgericht door de Belgische staat. Ze kreeg als opdracht een net van lokale tramlijnen aan te leggen om zo de gebieden die niet werden bediend door de ‘grote spoorwegen’ te ontsluiten naar de steden toe. De NMVB legde de tramlijnen aan en telkens er één klaar was, werd de exploitatie ervan via een aanbesteding toegekend aan een privé‐bedrijf. Een stoomtram in het begin van de jaren 1900 in Lochristi. Gelijkaardige trams reden in het begin op de lijn Gent‐Zwijnaarde‐Merelbeke‐Herzele‐Geraardsbergen. (verz. Dirk Eveleens Maarse) Eén van de eerste lijnen die de NMVB in de Gentse regio aanlegde was de lijn Gent ‐ Merelbeke. De exploitatie van die lijn werd in handen gegeven van de ‘Société anonyme des Tramways Électriques de Gand’ die ook het Gentse stadstramnet bezaten en uitbaatten.

Indien ernstige milieueffecten verwacht worden, moet nagegaan worden op welke manier deze effecten voorkomen, verminderd of eventueel gecompenseerd kunnen worden. Het is de initiatiefnemer va n het project, in dit geval AWV Oost-Vlaanderen, die aan een team van erkende MER- deskundigen de opdracht geeft om het MER op te stellen. 2 PROCEDURE VOOR HET OPSTELLEN VAN HET MER Een MER-proces doorloopt volgende stappen: · Opstellen en aan het publiek ter inzage voorleggen van een kennisgeving. In de kennisgeving wordt het project voorgesteld en wordt vermeld wie deel zal uitmaken van het team van erkende deskundigen. The second subperiod is conditioned by the following factors: sociopolitical events connected with the war in the Donbas, the process of Ukraine’s European integration, intensification of work migration, growth of consumerism and popularity of the Western standards of living. In the sphere of official anthroponyms, i. e. names and surnames, there are two parallel tendencies of transformation: patriotic domestication and exotic novelization. Whereas in the sphere of unofficial anthroponyms —nicknames— there is a clear reaction to the war in the Donbas. KEYWORDS: Ukrainian anthroponymicon, proper name, surname, military nickname (call sign). Radical changes in the sociopolitical life of post-totalitarian Ukraine influenced the structure and functions of the contemporary Ukrainian language, which subsequently modified the system of Ukrainian proper names of the post-soviet period. Democratization, rule of law, the multifacetedness of economy, the official status of the Ukrainian language, and the autonomy of the national minorities —these are the extralinguistic factors which intensified systematic transformation in the sphere of contemporary Ukrainian onomasticon after 1991. The extralinguistic factors of influence on the onymic structure of the contemporary Ukrainian language bring different effects in different subsystems.

    ONOMÀSTICA 5 (2019): 137–156 | RECEPCIÓ 12.3.2019 | ACCEPTACIÓ 10.12.2019 Slovak hydronymy in the European context Juraj Hladký University of Trnava (Slovakia) [email protected] Abstract: Historical Slavic toponymy is the sole basis for understanding the development of Slavic macrodialects and the formation of Slavic languages, including Slovak. In this respect, hydronymic lexis contributes significantly to views on developments in vocabulary. The oldest hydronyms in Slovakia are probably of pre-Slavic (Quadi, Celtic or Roman) origin (for example, the Hron, the Váh, the Nitra rivers and others). The older pre-Slavic-Slovak hydronymy provides evidence of the differentiation of dialects in the earlier periods (until the 10th–12th century). The younger Slovak hydronymic inventory is supplemented by Slovak-adapted foreign hydronyms (mainly of German and Hungarian origin). They reflect the degree of historical inter-lingual contacts in the regions of Slovakia and complete the diachronous-synchronous view of Slovak lexis. The study describes the tradition and outlines the results of hydronomastic studies in Slovakia and the relatively comprehensive characterization of Slovak hydronymy undertaken by the Hydronymia Slovaciae project. In line with the methodology employed by the Hydronymia Europaea project, all documented hydronyms have been systematically processed in individual river basins, from the oldest to the most recent. The analysis of the complex corpus of both existing and extinct hydronyms, in addition to its recognised linguistic (lexical-semantic, structural-typological characteristics, motivation) goals, has served in the reconstruction of the original non-linguistic side of the proper names, their standardization and cartography, etc. Thanks to methodologically similar hydronomastic research in other Slavic countries, the results of the studies in Slovakia can be applied in a broader Slavic context.

    EXPRESSION OF INTEREST 30 August 2019 Global Observance of the Annual World Cities Day 2020 Introduction The United Nations has designated every 31st of October as World Cities Day (WCD). UN-Habitat is the coordinating agency in the United Nations system to organize the annual Global Observation of World Cities Day, together with the host city. UN-Habitat is inviting cities to express their interest in hosting the global observation of the 2020 World Cities Day. World Cities Day was established on 27 December 2013 by the General Assembly in its resolution A/RES/68/239, in which the General Assembly “decides to designate 31 October, beginning in 2014, as World Cities Day, invites States, the United Nations system, in particular UN-Habitat, relevant international organizations, civil society and all relevant stakeholders to observe and raise awareness of the Day and stresses that the costs of all activities that may arise from observing the Day should be met from voluntary contributions”. The WCD has been strongly supported by the People’s Republic of China through the Ministry of Housing and Urban- Rural Development and the Shanghai Municipality. Background WCD is expected to promote the international community’s interest in global urbanization, push forward cooperation among countries in meeting opportunities and addressing challenges of urbanization, and contributing to sustainable urban development around the world. The general theme of World Cities Day is Better City, Better Life, while each year a different sub-theme and a location for its global observance is selected, to either promote successes of urbanization, or address specific challenges resulting from urbanization.

This conference, as another important global event following the Second United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II), will become a new start for future-proof housing and sustainable urban development in all countries. In order to promote and support Habitat III as well as enhance more significantly the quality of human settlements in China, the Chinese government has organized relevant departments to prepare the Habitat III National Report. This report summarizes the efforts and successes of human settlements in China over the past 20 years, analyzes the challenges and problems ahead, and specifies the objectives, strategies and actions for the next stage. This report is jointly prepared by relevant government departments, NGOs, academic and research organizations in accordance with the requirements of UN-HABITAT Governing Council Resolution 24/14. It is hoped that this report can contribute to the success of Habitat III.

This number is constantly on the rise and is expected to reach almost five billion by 2030 (6.3 billion by 2050). Cities have increasingly become a concentration of peoples with diverse backgrounds, different cultural and ethnic origins and beliefs. The challenges that this new identity and diversity pose for countries and, more broadly, regions are today heightened when concentrated in extremely reduced geographical spaces. Cities of all sizes often struggle to find resources and apply good practices to respond to the magnitude of this change. In fact, cities are faced with the end results of transnational and internal migration1 that further exacerbates challenges already faced by cities in providing equitable access to urban services and infrastructure, including housing, services and employment, and in ensuring adequate planning for the accelerated urban growth. Yet, Local Authorities have little if any say over international and national migration policies and they have little capacity to control migratory flows into their cities. 1 The People’s Republic of China is the biggest country in the world in terms of internal migration, which amounted to 166 million in 2013.
