The meeting was called to order at 6:30pm.

Opening Remarks – Det. Sgt. D. Theriault

Det. Sgt. D. Theriault introduced himself and started a round table of introductions. 1

Review of March’s Minutes and Matters Arising from Previous Minutes

The previous 13 Division CPLC Minutes were reviewed and no amendments were made.

Motion: To approve March’s CPLC minutes. All in Favour.

Review of Action Item from previous meeting:

 CPLC members, 13 Division CRU Officers and ZM Cycle held a Bicycle Safety clinic on May 15th.

Community Voice – Open Forum:

 J. Dileo invited members to the following event: o Community BBQ at 434 Oakwood Avenue on September 7th.  N. Rogers invited members to the following events: o Helena Street Party June 22nd o 1400 Bathurst Street Community BBQ – July 12th  A community member raised concerns about loitering, noise and parking issues at 2180 Eglinton Ave W.  PEO M. Cull advised that Parking Enforcement Officers have been detailed to this location and have issued tickets. They will continue to enforce.  Det. Sgt. D. Theriault will connect with the community member after the meeting.  A. Martin from Deputy Mayor Bailao’s office raised concerns they received from constituents regarding speeding and loud vehicles on Caledonia Rd.  Det. Sgt. D. Theriault asked that they encourage constituents to report this online and the reports will be assigned to traffic officers for enforcement. If constituents don’t have access to the internet they can call the non-emergency number and file a report through the PRIME unit.  A. Martin invited members to the following upcoming meetings and events. o June 17th Town Hall at JJP Community Centre. o June 18th Neighbourhood cycling meeting at St. Clare School o July 1st Day BBQ at Park  A. Valiallah advised that Oakwood and Vaughan will be part of the 2019 bike share expansion.

BIA Chair Reports – York-Eglinton / Fairbank Village / / / Marketo District

York-Eglinton:

They have seen an increase in drug activity, loitering and disoderlies. Specifically in the rear laneway on the north side of Eglinton and the Green P parking lot on the south side.

Det. Sgt. D. Theriault advised that a Summer Safety plan has been implemented, part of the plan will focus on crime and disorder in these locations.

Treasurer’s Report

 No Update

Crime Management Community Report – Det. Sgt. D. Theriault

Det. Sgt. D. Theriault discussed the seven major crime indicators and gave the following statistics from April 9th to June 5th.  Assaults– 82  Break & Enters – 48  Theft Over – 6  Robbery – 14  Auto Theft – 35  Sexual Assault –13  Shootings – 1  Theft From/ Mischief to Auto – 116  Homicide – 1

Break and Enter:  We saw a trend along Eglinton Ave. Suspect has been arrested and is currently before the courts.  An occurrence of concern, the suspect broke into an apartment, took his clothes off and remained in the apartment. Practice basic safety tips, lock windows and doors and be aware of your surroundings.

Robbery:  Several distraction thefts targeting seniors. Officers saw a pattern and were able to identify and arrest three individuals. We are currently trying to reunite victims with their jewelry.

Theft from & Mischief to Vehicles:  Lock cars  Keep valuables out of sight  Install cameras

Parking Report – PEO M. Cull  812 radio calls  5,703 vehicles tagged  1185 station details were attended resulting in 130 vehicles being chalked and 166 vehicles being tagged  6 vehicles towed  29 school zones were attended

The online reporting tool has been working well for them. The online reports go directly to a dispatcher and officers are immediately dispatched.
