Activity details: Activity: Planting young trees

Background: The is working in partnership with Trees for Cities to plant new young trees in the park. These trees will add to the existing tree boundary in the park, helping to filter noise and air pollution from Royal Albert Way and . These species will support habitats and food for urban wildlife and bring splashes of colour to the park throughout the seasons. We will also be planting edible fruit and nut trees such as walnut, hazel and crab apple for future generations to enjoy. Tasks involved:

What Trees for Cities will provide:  Tools  Supervision and training  Free hot drinks, lunch and refreshments

Important Please arrive at 10am and head straight to the registration tent to sign in. information: If you own a pair of hard-wearing gardening gloves please bring these along on the day. All gloves must be washed for biosecurity measures between each of our tree planting events. Gloves will be provided for those who need them.

Food and drink: Please bring a flask or normal mug, bowl and fork with you so we avoid using disposable materials.

Hot drinks, refreshments and a vegetarian lunch will be provided. Facilities: There will be accessible toilets on site.

 Strong boots/ wellies, layers and clothes you don’t mind getting muddy You will need:  Bring waterproofs just in case!

Your You can leave your belongings by the registration tent with our staff. Trees for belongings: Cities cannot be responsible for any lost or stolen belongings. Please bear in mind that anything brought into the park may get muddy.
