Town of Payson – Splash Pad at Green Valley Park Awarded Amount - $207,500 Funds will be used by the Town of Payson to develop a 2,000 sq.-ft. splash pad with a 1,300 sq.-ft. splash zone and 12 water features, plus designs for additional ancillary features like structures, tables, parking, and applicable site engineering and public access at 600 S. Payson Parkway, in the Town of Payson's Green Valley Park.

Arizona State Parks and Trails – 2023-2027 SCORP Planning Process Awarded Amount - $100,000 Requested funds will be used to develop the 2023 update to Arizona’s Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP). To be eligible to receive Land and Funds to support the planning, acquisition and development of lands identified as appropriate for conservation and outdoor recreation, each state must produce a Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) every five years.

Town of Parker – Western Park Playground Upgrade Awarded Amount - $28,000 LWCF funds will be used to purchase and install new playground equipment in Western Park, which is the most used public playground in La Paz County. The current playground's infrastructure is decades old, has holes in various places, loose joints, missing screws, and has been rated by Burke Playground inspectors as on the verge of unusable for safety reasons. As a playground that sees nearly 40 unique visitors each day on average, it is important to keep the playground in operations for public use, recreation, physical activity and social purposes. LWCF funds will be used to purchase and install new playground equipment.

04-00769 - Town of Camp Verde - Camp Verde Sports Complex Awarded Amount - $2,500,000 The Town of Camp Verde will develop a multi-use recreation facility which would include lighted baseball/softball fields, multi-use lighted soccer/football fields, pickleball and tennis courts, playground, picnic areas, restrooms, walking paths, parking areas, and associated needed infrastructure to develop this new facility. The facility will also connect with several miles of non-motorized trails.

04-00768 - of Chandler - Homestead North Park Development Awarded Amount - $750,000 The City of Chandler will use funds to develop a new 6.4-acre neighborhood park. Amenities will include lighted paths, a playground, basketball court, Pickleball court, ramada, open space, and landscaping. This park is also adjacent to the Paseo Trail along the Consolidated Canal and will be used as a trail head for the trail system.

04-00767 - City of Yuma - Riverfront Regional Park Enhancement Project Awarded Amount - $500,000 Yuma Riverfront Regional Park, which sits along the banks of the Lower Colorado River is comprised of three specialized parks (Gateway, Riverside, and West Wetlands), which all need further infrastructure development and improvements to its features and amenities. Funding would be used to complete the following activities: Construction of additional ADA-accessible parking, multi-use pathways, and ramadas; Installation of new public restrooms, facilities, furnishings, utility upgrades, fencing, irrigation, trees, and a dog park; Site preparation (engineering, amendments, demolition, materials relocation, waste and phragmites removal); and Outdoor education.

04-00766 - City of Show Low - Frontier Park Inclusive Playground and Splashpad Awarded Amount - $600,000 The City of Show Low will use funds to develop a themed inclusive playground and splash pad at Frontier City Park, located in the heart of Show Low's downtown redevelopment district. The project encompasses a 17,000 sq. ft. inclusive playground designed for all children, with and without disabilities and/or critical illnesses, who can play side by side with their peers and families; a 13,000 sq.ft. splash pad accessible to people of all physical abilities; and a lighted parking lot with 9 handicap spaces.

04-00765 - Town of Springerville - Town of Springerville Park Awarded Amount - $184,000 The Town of Springerville proposes making improvements to their existing Town Hall Park. The Town proposes constructing approximately 1,500 feet of walkways to create a perimeter around the park. Walkways will be comprised of an aggregate base that will sit on top of the existing soil surface. A lighted basketball court will also be constructed. Project also proposes the installation of a sprinkler system. space within the park.

04-00763 - Arizona State Parks and Trails - 2020-2024 Trails Plan Awarded Amount - $102,090 Every 5 years, Arizona State Parks and Trails must complete a non-motorized and motorized trails plan, as per statute. This plan provides priority issues from the perspective of Arizona residents, trail land managers, invested trail users and the public. This information is used to provide land managing agencies, elected decision-makers, stakeholders and citizens with valuable information about participation rates, trail management priorities and informs resource allocation.

04-00762 - Town of Oro Valley - Ballfield Rehabilitation at James D. Kriegh Park Awarded Amount - $200,000 This project will rehabilitate the ballfields by scraping up existing dirt/grass, repairing existing irrigation lines and installing new lines and emitters as needed. New sod/sprigs will be installed, and the dirt areas replaced. Time-worn fencing will be replaced on two sides, as will damaged kickplates and wires on the backstops. A new restroom (pre-fabricated) will be installed to replace an old metal restroom building. An additional shade ramada will be built near the fields for spectators and other events.

04-00761 - Town of Eager - Ramsey Park ADA Splashpad Awarded Amount - $78,216 This project will construct an ADA accessible splash pad at Ramsey Park that can be used by all members of the community. The park has ADA sidewalks, picnic tables and bathrooms, but no activities for disabled people to participate in.

04-00760 - City of Sierra Vista - Domingo Paiz Sports Complex Light Improvements Awarded Amount - $177,488 This project will replace lighting on the Domingo Paiz Sports Complex with energy efficient LED lighting. The new LED lighting will cut energy consumption, allow greater field visibility, resolve safety concerns caused by wiring issues, and help reduce light thus conserving the dark skies of Sierra Vista. The new lighting will decrease costs allowing for an increase in usage and capacity for community softball and soccer participants.

04-00759 - Arizona State Parks and Trails - Rockin' River Ranch State Park Development Awarded Amount - $700,000 (Project Withdrawn) Arizona State Parks and Trails will use funds to construct a new sanitary station including a sewer treatment plant as part of the development of a new state park, Rockin' River Ranch. Arizona State Parks and Trails owns, manages, and will develop the property for public outdoor recreation purposes.

04-00758 - Arizona State Parks and Trails - Upper Cattail Cove Development Project Awarded Amount - $2,309,507 This project will be for the development and construction of upper Cattail Cove State Park. There would be improvements to the road that will allow safe access to this area. Scope items to be included with this funding would be primitive cabins, excavation and grading, 2 restroom shower buildings, one restroom shower building, ramadas, picnic facilities, RV campsite utilities and lighting for camping areas.

04-00757 - La Paz County - La Paz County Park Riverfront Renovation Awarded Amount - $77,510 Funding will be used to renovate approximately 900 yards of riverfront recreation area inside the La Paz County Park along the Colorado River. The existing dirt and gravel riverbank will be graded to a gentle slope from an existing paved river walk to the water line. Six hard surface walkways will be extended from the existing river walk to approximately 2 feet of the high-water mark of the waterway. Eleven streetlights will be installed along the river walk providing evening illumination for the beach and walk ways. This project will upgrade the camping area by adding 50-amp hook ups with be installed to provide power to each of the 32 campsites at the south end of the project area.

04-00756 - Pima County - January 8th Memorial Awarded Amount - $61,469 Tucson's January 8th Memorial Foundation seeks to build a permanent memorial to remember and honor those that perished or were injured because of an assassination attempt against Congresswoman Gifford’s at the "Congress on Your Corner" event on January 8, 2011. memorial to be located on Pima County property adjacent to the Old Pima County Courthouse. The scope of the undertaking includes the purchase and installation of various plantings in above ground planters, purchase and installation of associated irrigation infrastructure for above ground planters, as well as some decorative rock work associated with an existing berm wall.

04-00754 - Coconino County - Fort Tuthill County Park Infrastructure & Visitor Amenities Awarded Amount - $150,620 Grant funds will be used to build permanent, year-round public restrooms with associated infrastructure, and trails at the Fort Tuthill Bike Park. The project will address infrastructure needs and visitor amenities that are lacking in a park identified as a Northern Arizona recreation destination, that currently houses multiple visitor amenities (trails, horse arenas, ramadas, events) and acts as a trail hub connecting the City of Flagstaff with developments to the south, while supporting public-private partnerships that also bring in visitors year-round.

The park plan includes a dynamic range of recreational opportunities for picnickers, non-motorized trail users, rock climbers, night sky users and tent campers. The park's proximity to the Superstition Wilderness and Peralta Trailhead coupled with the nearness of the metropolitan Phoenix area ensure that this park will be a popular destination for many.

04-00749 - Arizona State Parks and Trails - 2021 Boating/Water Craft Survey Awarded Amount - $100,000 Every 3 years, Arizona State Parks and Trails, in collaboration with Arizona Game & Fish Department complete a Boating Watercraft Survey which aids in the allocation of state grant and operating funds and aids the agencies in understanding the needs, preferences and experiences of boaters on Arizona rivers and lakes. This information is used to provide land managing agencies, elected decision-makers, stakeholders and citizens with valuable information about the number of boat and person use days that recreational watercraft are used in each county, participation rates, boating and watercraft management priorities and informs resource allocation.
