SAILING / COACHING EXPERIENCE

! Sailed in competition in Optimist, , Laser, 420, 470, RS700 skiff, GP14, , 1720 sport boats, Mini650 and many other classes.

! Sailing at 7 World Championships in Laser, Laser radial (2), Vaurien (2), GP14 and 470.

! Sailing at 9 European Championships in Laser radial (6, best result 12th in 1995), Laser std (2) and 1720 sport boat.

! Sailed numerous international events in Laser and 470 (grade 1, 2 and 3). Sailed and won numerous national and regional regattas in France and Ireland in various classes since I started sailing in 1989.

! Still actively sailing in the Laser master category (2013 Irish champion, 2015 runner up at French nationals, 14th at 2014 Worlds).

! Coached Optimist, Laser, 420, Mirrors, Toppers, and advised athletes from junior level to Olympics.

! Coach/Manager of Sophie Murphy at the 2010 Youth Olympics in Singapore.

! Coaching at 7 World Championships in Laser 4.7, Optimist (3) and (3).

! Coaching at 14 European Championships in Optimist (8, best result 7th in 2010 & 2011), Optimist (4, 7th in 2011), Laser 4.7 (2) and .

! Coached the Optimist Irish national team at numerous international events (best team in the Easter regatta 2011 and many individual medals including silver at the 2016 Easter regatta).

! Running regular coaches development sessions at national and club level in order to develop a best practice culture and an integrated approach to deliver coaching nationally.

! Working closely with the Irish Sailing Association performance director to best prepare junior and youth sailors for the exigencies of Olympic sailing. Have advised and worked with over 50% of the current Irish Olympians at some point in their sailing careers.
