WORDS OF GRACE Darren Cushman Wood

GREETING

*CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. God’s mercies never come to an end; People: they are new every morning.

*OPENING HYMN #384 Love Divine, All Loves Excelling Love divine, all loves excelling, joy of heav’n, to earth come down; fix in us thy humble dwelling; all thy faithful mercies crown! Jesus, thou art all compassion, pure, unbounded love thou art; visit us with thy salvation; enter ev'ry trembling heart.

Breathe, O breathe thy loving Spirit into ev’ry troubled breast! Let us all in thee inherit; let us find that second rest. Take away the love of sinning; Alpha and Omega be; end of faith, as its beginning, set our hearts at liberty.

Come, Almighty to deliver, let us all thy life receive; suddenly return and never, nevermore thy temples leave. Thee we would be always blessing, serve thee as thy hosts above, pray and praise thee without ceasing, glory in thy perfect love.

Finish, then, thy new creation; pure and spotless let us be. Let us see thy great salvation perfectly restored in thee; changed from glory into glory, till in heav’n we take our place, till we cast our crowns before thee, lost in wonder, love and praise.

PRAYER OF COMMENDATION

*CLOSING HYMN #364 Because He Lives God sent his Son, they called Him Jesus; he came to love, heal, and forgive; he lived and died to buy my pardon, an empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Refrain: Because he lives, I can face tomorrow; because he lives, all fear is gone; because I know he holds the future, and life is worth the living just because he lives.

How sweet to hold a newborn baby, and feel the pride and joy he gives; but greater still the calm assurance, this child can face uncertain days because he lives. [Refrain]

And then one day I'll cross the river, I'll fight life's final war with pain; and then as death gives way to victory, I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know he reigns. [Refrain]
