(Or a total of $260 million on all lip products.) While the theory highlights make-up, it extends to a whole host of other little luxuries that have outperformed the market in recent years with the promise of a quick, cheap thrill. In Australia, this includes growth in sales of fine wines and spirits (up 26 per cent between 2010 and 2015, Euromonitor), gourmet chocolates, (up 18 per cent between 2008 and 2012, Leatherhead Food Research) skin care, (up 15 per cent between 2010 and 2015, Euromonitor) and vitamins and dietary supplements (up 81 per cent between 2010 and 2015, Euromonitor).
