CDD Employment The Conservatoire for Dance and Drama has unparalleled links with the industries it serves and an impressive record of employment. The majority of Conservatoire graduates go on to prosperous, long-term careers across the performing arts both nationally and internationally.

By focusing on the individual, the Conservatoire schools help each student to find an employment path to match their talents and strengths. Throughout their chosen programme of study, students are encouraged to forge links with the industry, to network with current practitioners and, on some programmes, to undertake placements which help them to meet prospective employers and gain valuable experience. Many students at the Conservatoire dance schools undertake national tours as a core element of their study. Many students go on to secure employment with their placement companies after graduation.

Students are also prepared for sustainable careers in the industry through rigorous practical workshops (including classes in taxation, letter and CV writing), mock interviews with visiting professionals, lectures, master classes and careers seminars with leading organisations. Agents and casting directors are invited to attend public productions and screenings, and courses are taught by established industry professionals who enjoy successful careers in their fields. Career guidance is provided by dedicated careers teams, allowing each student to achieve his or her unique potential through tailored advice and support.

Over 75% of our students are still working in their area of training 5 years after they graduate.
