Meet our Coaching Staff

Head Coach- Dan Gendur Dan comes to The Bisons from the Cochrane Generals where he was head coach of the HJHL Regular Season Champions and South Division Playoff Champions as well as the Jr. B 2017 Provincial Silver medalists with a record of 34-4-1 in their regular season. Dan played in the WHL for five seasons for the and the Everett Silvertips where he was their leading point scorer and team MVP in 2007-2008. Dan also has playing experience in the EHL, AHL, CHL and in the NHL as an entry level draft pick for the in 2007. Dan’s additional coaching experience includes working with the Island Center of Excellence/Compton Sports Training, NSD and Spartan Hockey Development. Dan looks forward to bringing the momentum he created with the HJHL team into the AMHL with The Bisons.

Associate Coach-Dustin Taylor Dustin comes to The Bisons from the University of Alberta where he is completing his Masters of Coaching Degree. While working towards this degree, Dustin served as Assistant Coach and Video Coach for the 2017 West Champions, University of Alberta Golden Bears. Dustin’s coaching experience also includes being an assistant coach in the 2017 Alberta Cup and head coach of the Bantam AA Lightning. Dustin has played for the Vikes, winning a championship in 2012 and Dustin was named the 2012 BCIHL MVP and Playoff Leading Scorer. Dustin played for The Bisons in 2007/2008 season and looks forward to returning to his hockey roots and sharing his knowledge of the game and passion for coaching.

Assistant Coach- Dave Chamberland The Bisons would like to welcome Dave Chamberland to our coaching staff. Dave brings several years of hockey development experience to the team including Head Coach and Assistant Coach roles with the Calgary Royals AA and AAA program. In 2016 he was the head coach of the Calgary Northstars Midget AA Blazers.

Goaltender Coach-Marcus Beesley Marcus Beesley returns to the Bisons as our Goaltender Coach. He has many years of experience as a goalie coach and consultant, including 3 years with the AJHL’s Olds Grizzlys, the past 3 seasons with the Bisons, and 4 years to date as a full-time instructor at World Pro Goaltending in Calgary. Marcus is also the Head Instructor for World Pro’s summer camp in Prince George. Prior to his coaching career, Marcus played for the Prince George Spruce Kings (BCHL), Nelson Leafs and Kamloops Storm (KIJHL).
