Itinerary\[

Day 1: Sunday, October 6 • Overnight Flights to Depart on independently scheduled overnight flights to . Day 2: Monday, October 7 • Rome Arrive in Rome and transfer to the hotel, on your own (via taxi or private transfer). Please schedule your flights to arrive by 11 AM if interested in participating in any afternoon touring and Mass. Celebrate an opening Mass at San Lorenzo in Lucina, a minor basilica, followed with an opportunity to see Timothy P. Schmalz’s ‘When I Was A Stranger’ sculpture. Enjoy a group Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Rome. Day 3: Tuesday, October 8 • Ancient Rome Tour After breakfast, celebrate Mass at St. Peter in Chains Church, followed by the opportunity to see the chains that imprisoned St. Peter, Michelangelo’s famous sculpture of Moses, and Timothy P. Schmalz’s ‘When I Was Naked’ sculpture. Then, enjoy a tour of Ancient Rome, the Coliseum (inside visit), and the . Enjoy a leisurely afternoon and evening, with time to explore Rome on your own. Overnight in Rome. Day 4: Wednesday, October 9 • Papal Audience | Christian Rome Tour Early departure to attend the Papal Audience (pending the Pope’s final schedule). Afterwards, depart for Santo Spirito, sanctuary of Divine Mercy to celebrate Mass. Then, walk around the corner to the Santo Spirito Hospital to witness two more works of Timothy P. Schmalz, ‘When I Was Hungry and Thirsty’ and ‘When I Was Sick’. Depart for a Christian Rome Tour, including St. Mary Major and St. John Lateran, which is the Cathedral of Rome. See the Holy Steps climbed by Christ in Jerusalem, and the Basilica of the Holy Cross where some of Christianity's most important relics are housed, including a piece of the True Cross, thorn and nails. The last visit will be at St. Paul’s Outside the Walls, where you will see Timothy P. Schmalz’s ‘When I Was in Prison’ sculpture. Evening free to explore La Dolce Vita! This evening enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Rome. Day 5: Thursday, October 10 • Assisi Excursion Depart Rome for a full day excursion in Assisi. Upon arrival take a guided tour of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and pray in the Porziuncola, the headquarters of the Franciscan Order, where Christ and the Virgin Mary visited St. Francis in 1216. Then, enjoy a walking city tour of Assisi to see the art, architecture and serenity of this Umbrian town. Start at the Basilica of St. , with the opportunity to pray at the tomb of St. Francis. Visit the Church of St. Clare to see her tomb and the San Damiano Cross that spoke to St. Francis and led him to a life of piety. Conclude the tour by celebrating Mass at Chiesa Nuova, the birthplace of St. Francis. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to explore Assisi with its quaint shops. Return to Rome for dinner on your own. Overnight in Rome. Day 6: Friday, October 11 • St. Peter’s Basilica | Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel Celebrate an early morning Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica (pending availability & confirmation). After Mass, take a guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel, where you will view some of the most inspiring works of art, including Michelangelo's magnificent fresco of the Last Judgment. Then, visit Timothy P. Schmalz’s famous ‘Homeless Jesus’ in front of the Papal Office of Charity within the Vatican. Pope Francis blessed this piece on November 20th, 2013 calling it a ‘beautiful piece of art’. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Rome. Day 7: Saturday, October 12 • Historic Presentation Enjoy a morning of leisure with the opportunity to either, do last minute shopping or embark on an optional walking tour to visit the , , and Pantheon. In the afternoon, the group will have the opportunity to participate in a historic presentation of Timothy P. Schmalz's most recent piece in Rome. Placed at a confidential and very prominent site, where no sculpture has been added since the1600’s. A real treat to be a part of such a momentous opportunity. Tonight, enjoy a celebratory Farewell Dinner. Overnight in Rome. Day 8: Sunday, October 13 • Return Flight to USA After breakfast, check out and depart for the airport for your return flight home.
