BROADCASTING SERVICES ACT [CHAPTER 12:06\ Variation of Frequency Allotment Plans for National Television Broadcasting Services in the UHF Television Broadcasting Band and National Commercial, Provincial, Local Commercial and Community Radio Broadcasting Services in the FM Broadcasting Band. IT is hereby notified that the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe has, in terms of paragraph 4(3) of the First Schedule of the Broadcasting Services Act [Chapter 12:06\, varied the frequency allotment plans published in General Notices 548A, 548B, 548C of 2004 and 299 and 2014, and hereby substitutes these with the frequency plans published below, for the provision of National Television Broadcasting Services in the UHF Television Broadcasting Band and National Commercial, Provincial, Local Commercial and Community Radio Broadcasting Services in the FM Broadcasting Band. The views and conclusions herein are those of the workshop participants and the authors, and should not be taken to correspond to the policies, procedures, opinions, and views of the European Union, GBIF, BUSE or Government of Zimbabwe. 2 Executive Summary The overall objective of the initiation workshop was to familiarize stakeholders with the objectives of the project, consolidate the lists of priority NTFPs species (Food and medicinal) from representative communities in and around the five biodiversity hotspots, identify additional information holding institutions and develop a plan of action and to share knowledge and skills acquired from the BID capacity enhancement workshop with all stakeholders. The Workshop also sought to lay the foundation for subsequent work on the mobilisation and digitisation of biodiversity data in Zimbabwe with specific activities described in the approved project proposal. The initiation workshop was a formal review of information gathered during some community meetings held in five biodiversity hotspot areas: Hwange, Chipinge, Chimanimani, Nyanga and the Great dyke.

MINUTES: Action points Agenda item Discussion points (by whom and by when) Welcome − The Chair welcomed participants to the meeting and expressed gratitude towards their dedication and work in supporting the education sector. 1 COVID-19 Technical Below updates were reported by the various Technical Working Group (TWG) leads: Working Group (TWG) Updates 1) The Alternative Education, Open and Distance Learning: a) Radio and Television Education − By Friday 11 September, a cumulative of 574 primary lessons had been developed, 55 radio lessons are to be developed this week. − Writing of scripts for secondary radio lessons is in progress and is being done at provincial level. About 80 scripts have been developed to date. − Broadcasting of lessons (ECD to Grade 7) is in week 13 this week. Financial support for the radio lessons is only available for the next 10 weeks. − As of Friday 11 September 2020, a total of 439 radio lessons had been broadcast through National FM, Classic 263, Power FM, Radio Zimbabwe and Diamond FM.
