Singinawa Jungle Lodge Built with an aesthetic and artistic eye to detail, the lodge hosts spacious rooms with first-class comfort and amenities. The lodge also has a museum within its premises, built as an ode to the local Baiga and Gond artisans. It showcases art pieces and installations, both indoors and outdoors. Within the museum precincts, there is also a cafe that offers a variety of refreshments.

The Riverwood Forest Retreat Located close to the Pench Reserve, this jungle resort has imbibed a number of sustainable practices in the running and designing of their living spaces. They provide comfortable, air- conditioned cottage style suites, aesthetically designed with an earthy feel and local artistry.

GEOGRAPHY & NATURAL HISTORY

Delhi Delhi is India’s capital city and is a metropolitan urban space while retaining old world charm with buildings dating back to the 1600s. It is bordered by Haryana on three sides and by on the east. The Yamuna is the only major river flowing through the city of Delhi. It is one of the most densely populated cities and is home to many cultures. It houses exemplary contemporary artistic influences while also having sprawling Mughal & Turkish architectural marvels including the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Humayun’s tomb & Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque. Delhi is also known for its bazaars where shopping can be a never ending activity! Kanha is the largest national park of , sprawling across 940 sq. kms. The buffer zone of the park and the Phen sanctuary together make for the Kanha Tiger Reserve. It is home to over 1000 species of flowering plants. The lowland is a forest of sal and other mixed-forest trees, with meadows. The highland forests are tropical moist, dry deciduous and with bamboo grooves on the slopes. A number of villages were evacuated to make way for the wildlife and these abandoned ranges have now become open grasslands.

The reserve is home to a variety of mammals including tigers, leopards, wild dogs, foxes, jackals, swamp deer, Indian gaur, sambar, spotted deer, barking deer, , , , , civets, porcupine, honey badger and hares. The reserve attracts over 300 species of birds, among which are- cattle egrets, drongos, lesser adjutant, little grebes, crested serpent eagle, blossom headed parakeet, red-wattled lapwing, white-breasted kingfisher, Tickell’s blue flycatcher, wood shrikes. Reptiles like the Indian python, cobra, kraits, vipers, keel backs also call Kanha their home.

Pench Tiger Reserve The reserve derives its name from its life line-the River Pench. Inside the park, the river flows from North to South before going on to join the , splitting the Park into two. The general topography of Pench Tiger Reserve is mostly undulating, characterised by small ridges and hills having steep slopes, with a number of seasonal streams carving the terrain into many folds and furrows. Spanning over a total protected region of over 1920 sq km.straddling two states, the area is considered as one of the most prime and critical tiger habitat remaining in central India. As of May 2017, the number of tigers in Pench Tiger Reserve has increased to 44 as compared to 31 in 2016.

The carnivore fauna is represented by the Tiger (Panthera tigris), Leopard (Panthera pardus), or Indian Wild Dog (Cuon alpinus), Jungle Cat (Felis chaus), and (Viverricula indica). Wolves (Canis lupus) occur on the fringes and outside the Reserve limits. Striped Hyena (Hyaena hyaena), Sloth Bear (Melursus ursinus), (Canis aureus), and Common Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) make up the rest of the carnivore fauna of the Reserve. (Axis axis), Sambar (Rusa unicolor), Gaur (Bos gaurus), Nilgai (Boselaphus tragocamelus), Wild Pig (Sus scrofa), (Muntiacus muntjac) and Chowsinga (Tetraceros quadricornis), are the wild ungulate species found in the study area. The common Northern Plains Gray Langur (Semnopithecus entellus) and Rhesus Macaque (Macaca mulatta) represent the primate fauna of the area. The Indian Porcupine (Hystrix indica), two species of viz. Common Mongoose (Herpestes edwardsii) and (Herpestes smithii), and Black-naped Hare (Lepus nigricollis nigricollis) also occur in this Tiger Reserve.
