ANBUMANI RAMADOSS (DHARMAPURI): Madam Speaker, we all know that the total tribal population of India is about 8.4 per cent of the total population and in numbers it is approximately about 8.5 crore.… ( Interruptions ) This population of 8.5 crore is sometimes more than the population of certain countries like Germany, Iran, Egypt, etc.… ( Interruptions ) But the pace of development for the tribal population is sickeningly very low. We have had numerous programmes in the last 60 or 70 decades. We have had numerous Articles in our Constitution like 342, 164, 244 – the 5 th Schedule, 275, 330, 332 and so on.… ( Interruptions ) (b1/1105/lh-rjs) We have spent thousands of crores of rupees on the tribal population but today the results are not there. There is a very slow pace of development. I will specifically ask the Minister whether the Government have on a mission mode any time-bound programme for increasing the literacy rate of the tribal population from 47 per cent today to above 60 per cent in five years and also for bringing down the infant mortality rate from 82 today to about 60 per 1,000 live births in five years. … ( Interruptions ) I would like the Minister to answer my specific question whether the Government is on a mission mode and also whether the Government shows any urgency to sort out the developmental programmes of the tribes which are very important for the development of India. … ( Interruptions ) gÉÉÒ VÉÖAãÉ +ÉÉä®ÉàÉ : +ÉvªÉFÉ àÉcÉänªÉÉ, £ÉÉ®iÉ ºÉ®BÉEÉ® BÉEÉä ]ÅÉ<¤ÉãºÉ BÉEÉÒ MÉÆ£ÉÉÒ® ÉËSÉiÉÉ cè, <ºÉÉÊãÉA <xÉBÉEä ÉÊãÉA +ÉãÉMÉ ºÉä ABÉE àÉÆjÉÉãÉªÉ ¤ÉxÉɪÉÉ MɪÉÉ cè* <Æ]ÉÒÉÊOÉ]äb ]ÅÉ<¤ÉãÉ bä´ÉãÉ{ÉàÉé] |ÉÉäVÉèBÉD] /AVÉéºÉÉÒ BÉEä µÉEÚ àÉå càÉ ¤ÉcÖiÉ ºÉÉ®ä BÉEÉàÉ BÉE®iÉä cé, JÉɺÉBÉE® àÉÉÊcãÉÉ+ÉÉäÆ àÉå ÉʶÉFÉÉ BÉEÉ ÉÊ´ÉBÉEÉºÉ +ÉÉÉÊn* àÉÉÊcãÉÉ+ÉÉäÆ àÉå ãÉÉä ÉÊãÉ]ÅèºÉÉÒ cÉäxÉä BÉEä BÉEÉ®hÉ càÉ +ÉãÉMÉ ºÉä º{Éä¶ÉãÉ ªÉÉäVÉxÉÉ ¤ÉxÉÉiÉä cé* <ºÉBÉEä BÉEÉ®hÉ nºÉ´É−ÉÉﻃ OÉÉälÉ àÉå BÉEÉ{ÉEÉÒ ®ÉciÉ +ÉɪÉÉÒ cè* àÉé àÉÉxÉxÉÉÒªÉ ºÉnºªÉ BÉEÉÒ ÉËSÉiÉÉ ºÉä ºÉcàÉiÉ cÚÆ ÉÊBÉE càÉ <ºÉBÉEÉ ÉÊVÉiÉxÉÉ ´ÉÉÆÉÊUiÉ ÉÊ´ÉBÉEÉºÉ SÉÉciÉä cé, =iÉxÉÉ xÉcÉÓ cÖ+ÉÉ cè, ãÉäÉÊBÉExÉ ºÉ®BÉEÉ® <ºÉ ¤ÉÉ®ä àÉå ÉÊxÉ®xiÉ® BÉEÉàÉ BÉE® ®cÉÒ cè* càÉ ÉʶÉFÉÉ +ÉÉè® º´ÉɺlªÉ BÉEä ÉÊãÉA ÉÊàɶÉxÉ 22.12.2014 :: mkg-kvj Uncorrected / Not for Publication 13 àÉÉäb àÉå BÉEÉàÉ BÉE® ®cä cé* =xÉBÉEÉÒ +ÉÉVÉÉÒÉÊ´ÉBÉEÉ BÉEä ÉÊãÉA £ÉÉÒ càÉ BÉEÉàÉ BÉE® ®cä cé* <ºÉBÉE ä ÉÊãÉA càÉ º´ÉiÉÆjÉ ªÉÉäVÉxÉÉ SÉãÉÉ ®cä cé* DR. ANBUMANI RAMADOSS (DHARMAPURI): Madam, the hon. Minister has not answered my specific question whether the Government shows urgency in having any mission mode programmes. Nevertheless, Madam, we need to learn a lot from the north eastern part of the country, for example, their love and compassion, their love for women and children. … (Interruptions ) Madam, the statistics shows that in the entire country, the female sex ratio is very low. In Punjab, the female sex ratio is about appropriately 850 females/ 1,000 males.
