A look back at the ceremony to welcome new citizens held on Friday January 4th 2019 A successful first for this event, which brought together more than fifty new Eymet citizens, and which preceded the New Year municipal.

Parking After a number various of fittings and improvements, new traffic and parking rules have been introduced in the Bastide since April 1st. As a reminder: • The speed in the heart of bastide is limited to 30 km/h on the avenues de la Bastide and des Marguerites, the quai de la Navigation and in the rues Traversière, de l'Engin, Moissac, Pericot, du Veau, Portanel, du Temple, du Loup, du Couvent, du Tibre, de l'Amadou and Lakanal. • Parking is limited to 30 minutes every day (with blue disk control), from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 7pm on the limited-time parking spaces shown in blue on the pavement on the Rue du Temple as well as on all the parking spaces on the Place Gambetta. Remember to put your blue disk behind the windshield of your vehicle in all these areas. • Parking is strictly prohibited on the paved areas of the square, in the adjacent streets, along the arches and along the barriers on the rue Traversière. Parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility There are 15 in total: 2 in front of the town hall, 2 by the church, 1 in the Mill car park, 5 on the Boulevard National, 2 on the relay car park (behind the chemists) , 3 next to the college.

Refuse collection Initially planned for January 1st 2019, the date of the change for the refuse collection system has been postponed several times. Firstly, the services of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs requested that an archaeological diagnosis be established in advance of the work for the voluntary collection bins. It was a question of verifying that the ground in which the installations were to be placed did not conceal any archaeological artefacts. The archaeological excavations were carried out without any notable discoveries but the planning permission was then rejected by the State services, which forces us to modify the locations for two of zones for voluntary collection terminals, at Bretou and by the Mill . We can not therefore, in the immediate future, fix the date of implementation of the reform.

In any case, it is imperative that we continue our efforts in terms of sorting waste and composting: by 2025, we will have to reduce by 50% the quantity of in-fill waste, by 10% the overall quantity of all our waste and increase recycling by 30%. Otherwise, the cost of waste treatment will increase for all.

For this purpose, we distributed compost bins in January and, for its part, the SMD3 has set up a composting untit at the retirement home, as is already the case at the college.

Beginning mid-September, as part of the introduction in 2021 of the incentive levy (which will replace the refuse collection tax) adopted by the Community of Communes council, a door-to-door campaign will be conducted in the town by the SMD3, to remind citizens of the rules on sorting and composting and also to collect your personal data.

Pedestrians on the Square For the third year in a row, the 'Give way to pedestrians' operation is being repeated on the Place Gambetta. Every evening, from July 1st to August 31st from 7pm, and on Sundays from midday, parking and circulation of all types of motor vehicles are totally prohibited.

Market information In July and August, for the Thursday morning market, the Avenue de la Bastide will be closed from the crossroads with the rue de la Sole and no longer from the crossroads with the rue du Tibre. On the 15th of August, this falls this year on a Thursday, the Oyster and White Wine Festival will take place at the same time as the weekly market. It will be held, as per usual, on the place Gambetta. The market traders who usually set up in the square and the on the Avenue de Ste Foy will be delocalised to the Avenue de la Bastide, up to the intersection with the Rue de la Sole.

Tuesday night markets: stalls will be placed from the Place Gambetta toward the castle – consequently traffic will be prohibited on the Avenue de la Bastide between the rue du Tibre and the car park behind the church.

Jeudis Gourmands: the gourmet markets on Thursday evenings move a short distance to settle in the Jardin Cadix.

Diverse information

Canine excrement Dog excrements are strictly prohibited on public roads, sidewalks, green spaces, play areas for children ... Any dog owner is required to pick up the excrement of his animal, simply by keeping a small plastic or paper bag in their pocket, in order to collect 'the object of crime' and then throw it in a rubbish bin. A small effort (which is really nothing superhuman) that will help preserve our town and prevent accidents, for the well being of all. Thank you for thinking about it and acting accordingly.

Defibrillator Defibrillators are available in various parts of the town: on the front of the Salle Polyvalente and the Tourist Office. This type of device can analyze the electrical activity of the heart of a person in cardio-respiratory arrest and it's use can save lives.

Noise Maintenance, do-it-yourself and gardening work using motorized appliances are only allowed at the following times: working days from 8.30am to 12am and from 2.30pm to 7.30pm, Saturdays from 9am to 12pm and from 3pm to 7pm, Sundays and public holidays from 10h to 12h. Thank you for keeping this in mind!

Pavement maintenance and property limits Municipal services are responsible for cleaning and weeding the towns pavements – without the use of any chemical products, it is worth recalling. However, with a total length of pavements of more than 20 kms, their action is not enough. We invite you to participate in the maintenance of spaces around your homes, sweeping and removing weeds on the pavements. But we insist that waste should never be thrown into storm drains. Thanks for your help.

Brushcutting Brushcutting and maintaining areas around buildings, construction sites and installations of all kinds must be carried out on a radius of 50 meters as well as 10 meters on both sides of private access roads. The operation consists of reducing the vegetable matter of any kind (grass, branches, leaves ...) likely to catch fire and which could facilitate the spread of a fire to homes.

Living comfortably in the summer

Vigilance regarding the tiger mosquito The tiger mosquito is generally smaller than the common mosquito and is recognizable by its black and white stripes all over it's body and legs. It's wings are black and without markings. It develops in small pools of water: saucers of flowerpots, vases and other containers containing water such as water tanks, out of use swimming pools, clogged gutters ... To avoid the development of mosquito larvae it is necessary to eliminate any stagnant water and cover the water containers. To eradicate any rest areas for adult mosquitoes, maintain your garden, collect fallen fruit and plant debris, reduce moisture sources by limiting watering.

Destruction of ragweed Ragweed is an invasive exotic plant that is harmful for many reasons. It's pollen is allergenic and can sometimes provoke serious reactions at the end of summer. This plant should be removed by pulling out (wearing gloves) or mowing, preferably before blooming. An observatory collects the reports of presence of this plant. www.signalement-ambroisie.fr

Heat wave The elderly, isolated or disabled living at home are invited to register on the list of vulnerable people at the town hall. They will thus be able to benefit from particular attention in case of heat wave.

Swimming pool From July 6th to August 31st , the pool will be open every day from 2pm to 7pm, Fridays from 10am to midday and 2pm to 7pm. Exceptionally, it will be closed on August 2nd , 9th and 16th . For any questions about swimming lessons, you can call 05.53.22.77.35 or 05.53.22.22.10.

She will defend the colours of the Dordogne at the national event next November in Paris. Students from the Collège Georges and Marie Bousquet obtained the Clap d'Argent for the contest "I film the job I like" - whose jury is chaired by actor Jean Dujardin. This competition aims to help young people in their orientation by making them discover a profession. These college students, who attend the college's cinema workshop, were pre-selected from 85,000 participants through their video 'The Green Space Guardians'.

School meals Your children eat lunch in the canteen, but do you know how the meals are served? Served in the canteens of the schools of Razac, and as well as the nursery and elementary schools in Eymet, the meals are made in the kitchen at the Georges and Marie Bousquet College. Ingredients are ordered on platforms supported by local and national producers. The meat is 100% French origin. By next year, the supplies will be made up of 50% local products and 20% organic. The menus are set 4 weeks in advance by the kitchen and cantine staff, the college Principal and a nurse. There is only one menu for all students, and 580 meals are cooked each day. Currently, a complete organic meal is served every 15 days, a starter and an organic dessert once a week. The distribution of the hot meals in the various schools is taken care of by the Community of Communes Portes Sud Périgord.

Espace Culturel The program of our 5th cultural season gives pride of place to theater but singing, music, dance and humor are not forgotten. As proof, it is the 'Vamps' who will be in the spotlight on November 9th and 10th . You will find all the details of the new season in the 2019/2020 cultural diary which is distributed to each household at the same time as this Municipal letter.
