1973-1974 B Body Manual Sunroof Production by Scott Rudge – [email protected] The 1973 and 1974 manual sunroof B-bodies were quite a bit more plentiful than their power sunroof predecessors. American Sunroof Corp produced a manual sunroof kit that Chrysler could install right on the assembly line, instead of pulling the cars off the line into a side room. With the sunroof installation streamlined and the change to manual operation, the price of the sunroof option was essentially cut in half. This made the manual sunroof a more attractive option for the customer. 1973 Dodge Charger – Manual sunroof cars shipped to the US market: 3,097. Available on all Coupe and Two-Door Hardtop models with vinyl roof. Charger Coupe (WL21) - 47 Charger/Charger Rallye (WH23) - 556 Charger SE (WP29) - 2494 Charger production numbers are from Chrysler’s internal SG30 Options and Accessories report. 1973 Plymouth Satellite/Road Runner – Manual sunroof cars shipped to the US market: Road Runner – 414. Satellite line unknown at this time. Available on all Coupes and Two-Door Hardtop models with or without vinyl roof. Satellite Coupe/Sebring/Sebring Plus (RL21/RH23/RP23) – ? Road Runner/Road Runner GTX (RM21) – 414. I ran across one reference in a Charger forum that said about 655 total sunroof Chargers were built in 1974. This paragraph certainly gets directly to the issue we are dealing with. We are to promote the AUTHENTIC restoration of Plymouths and Fargo vehicles. That means we need to judge these cars against a standard of a factory shipped car. Original Plymouths did not come from the factory with modern modifications.
