Telford & Wrekin Council has already developed a wide-ranging programme of events to mark the anniversary, with numerous festivals and carnivals being added to the town’s more familiar schedule of annual events. The council is encouraging people across the borough to make a contribu- tion to the year-long birthday party, and is directing potential participants to the Telford50 Facebook group, where ideas to mark the milestone anniversary can be shared and discussed.
