11 THINGS TO KNOW: 1. Thursday, Minnesota plays the second contest of its longest homestand of the season: six games spanning 12 days. The Wild opened the season with five of its first six games on the road. Minnesota posted a 27-12-2 record at Xcel Energy Center last season, the second-most home wins in a season in team history (29 in 2006-07). The Wild set home-ice franchise records for most goals in a season, outscoring opponents 137-93, and highest power-play percentage with a 27.4% conversion rate (31-of-113) – with both home- ice franchise records ranking second in the NHL in 2016-17.

2. This season’s Xcel Energy Center ice sheet is made with water contributed by fans from their favorite hockey ponds, lakes and rinks. Fans can bring up to three ounces of water to be collected, filtered and used in ice re-surfacing at every Wild home game during the 2017-18 season. So far, more than 2,500 fans have contributed water from water sources in over 300 cities – mostly in the state of Hockey, but including water from far-away locales like Hawaii, Maine, New York, California and North Carolina. Visit wild.com/PlayersIce to see where Wild players began playing hockey.

3. Tuesday, the Wild saw its streak of scoring at least one power-play goal in five straight games come to an end. Minnesota is 6-for-22 on the power play this season, leading the Western Conference and ranking fifth in the NHL with a 27.3% success rate.
