FALL 2012 | UVU MAGAZINE 3 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Moving to Structured Enrollment UVU Exec Tapped to Head s we begin the 2012-2013 aca- Utah Valley Chamber A demic year, we are also enter- ing a new era at Utah Valley University. Starting this semester, the institution is operating under a new policy called “structured enrollment.” This innova- tive model arose from the need for UVU to remain open to any student while si- multaneously bolstering academic rigor and scholarly expectations. First, a little perspective and back- ground on this move. In fact, UVU became the largest public institution in Utah last fall with more than 33,000 students. This growth is the result of two forces. First, as an open-admission institution, UVU remains a place of second chance for students of any background or level of academic preparation. Second, UVU is increasingly becoming a place of first choice for students seeking the many first-rate university programs we now offer. The UVU Round Robin event will be contested on two mats simultaneously and will begin at 11 a.m. MT. Both mats will also be streamed live on the WAC Digital Network and the GoUVU channel on YouTube, as well as well as on FloWrestling.org and the FloSports App (subscription required). Live scoring/results will also be available throughout the duration of the competition by visiting TrackWrestling.com. Saturday's round robin tournament will not be team scored but will crown a weight class champion in each of the 10 weight classes.
