Fourth quarter 90.5 79.5 14%

Full year 369 259.8 42%

Note: The financial year runs from 1 April to 31 March.

The fourth quarter figures integrates the assets of the Entertainment division of TLC (United States) -which were consolidated with effect from 13 March 2001- and the distribution business in Europe.

Continued steady growth Ubi Soft has met its projections and exceeded its sales target by racking up growth of 42% for the year, 18% of which was based on internal growth. The company has thus demonstrated its ability to outperform the market (which grew by 10% in the United States and about 5% in Europe), despite postponing the market launch of Arena in the United States until 2002/2003.

This solid performance was achieved with only a limited increase in the number of games (151, compared with 143 last year). This confirms the Group‘s strategy of focusing more on games with strong growth potential, such as ®3: Exile, with sales of 1,120,000, Rayman ®Advance (770 000), Batman ™: Vengeance (over 670,000) and the ‘s Ghost Recon series (over 760,000).

Ubi Soft launched 48 new games during the fourth quarter, compared with 52 in the same period last year. The main new titles included the E.T. series, with sales of over 300,000, Grandia ™2 (about 180,000), and, in the United States, Ice Age ™ (over 80,000).

Sales on new platforms (GameBoy ®Advance, PlayStation ®2, Nintendo Game Cube™ and ™) accounted for 39% of annual sales (9% last year). PC games, which were boosted by the success of Myst ®3: Exile, Tom Clancy‘s Ghost Recon and the multiplayer online games, accounted for 42% of annual sales.

Also noteworthy was the success achieved in integrating recent acquisitions, which exceeded expectations: Red Storm accounted for sales of ⁄41 million, Blue Byte ⁄11.5 million and the activities of the TLC Entertainment division ⁄56 million.

Continuing internationalization • Sales in the North American region amounted to ⁄137 million for the year (+112%), which represents 37% of the Group total. Fourth quarter sales for the zone came to ⁄24 million (+58%). • The European region, with sales of ⁄212 million (+21%), accounted for 58% of the year‘s total. Growth was strongest in Germany, the Benelux countries and Scandinavia. Fourth quarter sales for the zone came to ⁄58 million (+5%). • The Asia-Pacific zone also turned in a solid performance, with 5% of annual sales, up by 55%.

The outlook is for strong growth in 2002/2003 The video games market should pick up sharply in 2002. In Europe it will receive a boost from the recent decisions by Microsoft and Nintendo to cut the prices of their consoles. In this light, and armed with its portfolio of high-quality games, Ubi Soft is confident that its business will continue to forge ahead in the 2002/2003 financial year. The 100 games currently being developed for 2002/2003 in the Group‘s studios include future best-sellers like Tom Clancy‘s ™ : Raven Shield ™, Splinter Cell ™, Rayman ® 3 Hoodlum Havoc, XIII and a new game by Michel Ancel (the creator of Rayman).

The results for 2001/2002 will be published and discussed at the analyst meeting, which is to be held in Paris on June 26 th .
